Shell V-Power The New RON Fuel

Last week went to Shell and they insisted me a lot to use their new V-Power and my car will be flying instead of running.
Price?
84.30/L.
What the heck?

I said when regular is available at 68.4 then why I have to pay ~Rs. 16/L extra?
Filled tank with regular fuel and happy with it. If V-Power is available like 72~73/L, then I may try. But its difference is huge than regular fuel.

Super is for 66rps per liter at all pumps. From where u got supet for 66 ?

just got the following information from Attock head office ISD, according to their sales team three types of fuel are introduce in market

1. RON87 replace with 92 (PSO ALTRON premium, ATTOCK PMG)
2. HOBC replace with RON95 (PSO ALTRON X High Performance, Shell V-power)
3. RON97 (Only available on attock company operated fuel pumps)

they claim that we are offering more RON in the same price.

Now my point is How we can check the RON exactly??? we should know as consumers about what we are buying and what we are paying for and feeding our car.
currently all oil pump companies import High RON number fuel, blend it with simple one and sale under different market names.

Hi. As ur working with shell i want to know about their oil quality which they are making for cars. Is the oil manufactured in pakistan or its imported and packed here. I am talking the shell oil hx7 and hx5. Thanks

Rs 66 rounded off - The standard regulated rate of the government

The 95 RON was approx 85 if memory serves me correct

The min rate of fuel in pakistan is 66 so how you have been robed? NO one is offering 92 ron fuel for 66rs/l till now, so its better to fill up your tank with shellz normal fuel because Shells normal fuel even serves well than PSO altron shultron​

So yesterday went to panjsarki shell pump. And asked them again same question what is the ron rating for 66/l fuel and they said :
Sir its 92 ron..
Now i wanna know were they lying or they were true?

Last night I have filled up my tank with shell vpower. Tbh I did not felt a bit of a difference. Fuel gauge was showing two points and added 6 points of vpower (full tank). The engine sound was as it was. No difference in pick. This is truly a waste of money. Someone else has had the same experience or I was sold normal fuel instead of vpower. Tried vpower on empty tank . Didnt feel any difference in terms of power, noise or smoothness. Switching back to good old company operated pso altron.

v power seh aik dum u wont feel an instant difference! it takes at least 1 full tank for the car to adjust and for the difference to be felt! any1 who felt an instant difference petrol daltay hee lambi phayk raha hai! first tank of v power that u fill ul hardly feel anything or nothing at all because tank mein porana petrol bhi hota hai jis ke sath yeh mix ho jata hai! after using 1 full tank and then refilling it with v power again thats when u start to feel the difference!

i have filled 3 times with v-power in civic 1.5T and still knocking with kirr kirr sound, was hoping this knocking will go away after 2nd or 3rd tank.

Didn't change. Was still between 11.5 to 12. That I was getting before too.

In city i get 9.5-9.8 with eco mode and light foot

Im still in the process of calculating fuel average but I feel marked improvement in engine smoothness. Low end torque has significantly improved and the engine revs easier. Engine sound at higher RPMs is lower.
I frequently drive on long inclines and am now able to accelerate on higher gears. Yesterday, I went half way to Monal and i felt a significant improvement in power.

ppl who are complaining of knocking using v power and feeling no difference after 2-3 tank fill ups did u ppl reset the ecu after pouring in v power?

I've personally had a really bad experience with Shell V Power. First tank was ok but the second one turned driving my car into a nightmare. Everytime I touched the throttle the car would start knocking.

I patiently waited for the tank to drop to about a quarter and filled up with Total HOBC. And like magic, the knocking just disappeared.

My Civic 1.5T just hated the V Power.

Yes the tank was empty and why would I reset the ecu? And I filled it from DHA masjid chowk Lahore Shell.
As for LC V8, that is not a turbo engine man. My Prado TZ which is a V6 runs fine on super. On the other hand, my Mercedes E250 knocks on super, it needs HI octane most of the time. Turbo engines have a higher compression therefore they are more sensitive to knocking on bad fuel.

My brother has 1.5T and his car started knocking on V Power too. Maybe it is the pump, not the fuel because he filled up from the same pump.
