Shifting Auto gear during drive...?

Never Ever do that especially when going downhill. What made you think that there a need to shift to "N" ever while vehicle is moving ?

Do not even think about this type of fuel saving techniques And you said Downhill NOOOOOOOOOOOO, you know when we shifting a gear lever into neutral position that time you car wheels disconnecting a with trans and in free position so free position extremely- affecting on brake performance and in downhill, you can not stop your car.

Either Automatic or Manual, there is high risk involved shifting to "N" while vehicle is moving. On "RED" signal, you may shift to "N" while vehicle is still but that will not save you any fuel. It's a myth.

Your probably wasting more fuel putting it in neutral. I dont know the technical terms, but say your going downhill and in gear, the engine is turning over and not using fuel (or maybe little at best). Putting it in neutral, the engine must pump fuel in to keep it from stalling. Going downhill in gear the engine wont stall.

I probably havnt explained it clear but there should be lots of info online about it.

If that is the case, then use park position "P" instead of "N" because if you use Neutral, the vehicle may move on a little due to little slope on signals.

it would be better to pull hand brake first then shift into P, to avoid more pressure on the transmission in P (especially on a slope). Or just keep it in N with handbrake on when at the lights.

you can put it in N while at a red light, no harm in that. And its usually there to allow the car movement while its off and needs a push

Sir no harm in putting it into neutral at stop because obviously when in D the engine is trying to spin the torque convertor but due to brakes it just spins all the energy is converted into heat so yes putting into neutral can save gas.
Other thing is that when you take your foot off the pedal the fuel injectors turn off if enough speed is there,so when coasting towards a red light just lift it off the pedal and dont put in N while coasting because extra fuel will be injected because the engine is no longer being turned by the wheels so just let it coast in D towards the stop and then put in N.
When waiting for more than a minite its better to turn off the engine.
Yes these tips dont save you a fortune but still something is better than nothing
Btw hypermilling requires more concentration.

if ur at red light and trasn is at D then the engine is contantly trying to move but is forcefully stopped due to brakes. so its more like engine power is being wasted so why not put it in N and give some rest to engine.

for the first point i totally agree now that during coasting trans shd not be shifted to N instead it shd leave idol... but this red light myth still needs to be busted

red light myth is like....when approaching a red light u shift into N from D and let it reach signal in N mode and saving some fuel....
