Shock absorber dust cover

aoa dear members i have suzuki khyber with shock absorbers replaced new KYB 2 years back
I just noticed its plastic folding which i guess is dust cover has been broken
Is it normal???

It rots off, but you can retrofit a bellows boot quite easily.

This prevents sand and dirt from tearing the piston seal.

Its sold as part of top mount or part of bump stop, i forgot which.
