Hello everyone,
The issue im facing on my Swift is regarding paint quality on the rear right door. The car has been driven 26k km in 1 year although its invoice is of November 2022.
Let me just say that overall the paint quality of all suzuki cars is horrendous. There is orange peel all over the paint which apparently can be removed by compounding but i haven’t got it done yet. Anyway i started to notice a singular spot on the rear right door as if the paint is thin in that exact spot. I have only washed the car at home and a total of 4 times at a service station with polish.
I never got compounding etc done (as mentioned earlier) so there is no chance that i accidentally got the paint to wear off myself. Today i went for a regular oil change and discussed the paint spot with them and at first they tried their best to somehow pin it on me by saying it must have hit something or the spot is somehow ON the paint instead of IN the paint. Keep in mind it’s a white car and a slight discolouration’s origin can be easily identified. The staff told me the solution is painting the entire door again however, when i said is paint defect covered under warranty they replied with “Sir aik saal chal gayi hai abhi aage se paint change hojaye toh yeh hum guarantee kese de sakte hain”. I was taken aback by their response but didn’t argue much today. They also said it’s barely noticeable so painting it isn’t worth it.
Now my question is, are paint defects covered under warranty? I believe the warranty is of 3 years or 60k km so the period hasn’t expired. Will suzuki uphold the warranty and redo their poor workmanship on my car or will i have to get it done myself? They quoted roughly 7k per panel. It isn’t a that big of an amount but since the warranty is there, im not going to be paying a single ruppee when i get it fixed. How do i even approach them to repaint it under warranty? They tried their best to just ignore the problem and that was very concerning coming from them.
Thank you in advance and i apologise for any mistakes as it’s my first time writing on this forum.
