Yes if the car is cheaper then market price.

How, you can always get a duplicate book made.

PS: Make sure, the owner gives an add in the news paper that he has lost the book, and is selling the car to you. If any claims they should be notified in xyz number of days.

Also see who would apply for a duplicate book you after purchasing or the previous owner

Yes buy one and the day you see another car on the road with same make model and reg no pull him over and ask him whether your car is 2 no or mine. (True story)

Dear this is Pak. There is a reason duplicate copy cars are cheaper and hard to sell.

yes the car is in good condition and cheaper than market price. jlust want to understand as few friends suggested to stay away from such cars.

ok i will, but what if there is a genuine case? what happens to a normal guy whose book gets lost ? there are no chances to sell a car without its book ?

If the book was lost then the owner should have registered an FIR at the local police station. With this FIR the owner should have applied for a duplicate book. If that has not been done till date then either ensure that all this is done by the owner or simply walk away. Such cars are attractive to buy but may cause legal problems later and would also be difficult to sell off.

Car can be sold but at a lesser price. Plus the buyer puts himself in unnecessary risk, which i m not willing to do for myself and suggest the same for you. Its an honest advice.

Sab ho skta ha shah ge. I Know a man who had contacts in excise isb. Used to buy duplicate copy cars at nominal price. Got a new copy with “duplicate” erased and later sell off the car. Profit. Its a dirty business and excise is as corrupt as any other institute. Thats why for car buying i go to “gharelu” people and stay away from brokers plus duplicate copy stuff etc
