On the first day of Eid ul Fitr this year, my Charade 86 had a brake failure due to negligence of workshop guy. The rubber pipe linked to caliper, was touching the wheel, resulting in brake fluid leakage.
You may skip the bracketed lines...
[The car was full to capacity and we had a narrow escape, due to Eid there was no or very less traffic (SITE area Karachi). Thankfully, I got enough distance to park my car safely using hand brake and engine compression.]
Due to brake failure, I was in shock and I pressed brake pedal many times which might have caused dry run of piston in the master cylinder. Problem now I am facing is that when I softly/slowly press the pedal, the brake does not work and pedal simply reaches to its limit without generating any pressure. Pedal works fine when I press pedal quickly. Mechanic told me that this is happening due to weak seals / piston creating gape losing the compression in the master cylinder.
Now I want your opinion whether I should go for booster replacement (Kabli or New) or simply install the brand new Master cylinder with new seals and all for my Charade 86.
Much regards.
