Should I go for Liana or Nissan Sunny?

I'm in the market to buy a new car with a budget of 1.3 million. My only requirement is FF CNG and 1300+ cc. Already have a Liana 1.3 RXI FF CNG 2006 Model so I would prefer to not buy another Liana unless Suzuki has changed the exterior for 2011 model. Although its a good car but I think it would not make sense to have two identical Lianas in my garage. Nissan Sunny EXS 1.6 MT seems to be a good choice. In fact, with my requirements I think its the only choice other than Liana. Please give your suggestions which should I go for, Sunny or Liana again or any other car.

Is this for real? And why is there no difference in price of RXI and LXI models? Both are tagged as Rs. 1,239,000 on PW price list.

Also please tell me about the driving experience and comfortableness of Sunny EXS 1.6.

The Liana for 2011 is the same facelifted Liana Vurv... Go for Sunny IMO. It has a bigger engine and has wonderful drive.

As you already have decided for FF CNG, you have no choice But Liana (Only FF CNg at this time). No city/corolla!

Currently you are only going to find Liana FF CNG
Or Else Ill say buy a City 2011 , Get it converted to CNG,

Do you guys think Nissan Sunny EXS is a better buy than Liana even without CD Player, Immobilizer, Tubeless Tyres and a Defogger that Liana offers? Baqi sub cheezon ki to khair hai but can anyone confirm that Sunny EXS doesn't have a Defogger? Agar fog jam jai rear window par to banda kuch nahi kar sakta kia? I suggest you go for Nissan Sunny. It is pure value for money and 1000 times better than local assembled stuff. The entire car comes in crates and only a few parts like doors, trunk lid, bonnet, wheels are put together. 100 percent Japanese parts and the quality of both exterior and interior is 1000 times better than local ones. My cousin has two Sunny's 1.6 auto and manual. I lately test drove the auto Super Saloon and it is simply splendid.

Yeah bro my inclination is towards Sunny and I've gone through all previous threads about it on PW and everyone seems to be full of praises for this car. If only anyone can clear the defogger thing for me then I think I'll have a final decision at my hands. Bu then again its a sort of trivial thing. Maybe I need to pay a visit to the Nissan dealer in Islamabad now to check the thing myself.

Ghias: Who said Sunny come without defogger?? impossible this is...

Few other points, which I believe, would help you in comming to a quick and sensible decsion....

1- If you going to drive your car on CNG ..it really dosent matter what car you buy....Corolla, Sunny, City ..all will drive the same on CNG...so its pointless talking about Vrable Valve Tech missing in Sunny but available in Corolla and City...as far as I know, Sunny still comes with DOHC Twin Cam 1.6 L Engine....
2- Sunny is a good looking car but the model in Pakistan is an old shape which was introduced in 2004 - 2005 in internationl markets....Corolla and City however are comparitivley newer shape cars...
3- Build quality of Sunny is better than City and Corolla and it looks perfect in frost white color (my choice anyway!)
4- If re-sale is not a big issue for you...or in other words, if you going to keep the car for few years than go for Sunny...
5- Apart from slightly old technology in Engine and no DBW technology, EBD etc, Sunny have all other smartness such as ABS, EFi Engine etc.
6- LIANA is rubbish looking car.....dont go for that again if you have already owned one in past!

I hope the above will help you in coming to a quick decsion....GO FOR SUNNY.

Sunny is alot better than Liana. Sunny was discontinued in Japan since 2002 and this is Korean version Sunny.

Sunny is the car you need!

1. Sunny comes with defogger
2. Sunny comes with driver side airbag also (ss version comes with both airbag+abs)
3. Lianas engine is old technology from early 2000s, Sunny's engine is also old but not as old as Lianas. Honda City's engine is the newest technology,
4. Built quality of Sunny is better than Liana, City, and Corolla.
5. City is most fuel efficient amongst the four cars.
6. 1.3 Liana and Corolla xli/gli do not have auto transmission option (1.6 auto Liana is out of production). City and Sunny have A/T variants.
7. Sunny is known to be much more reliable than Liana.
8. Sunny comes with imported bridgestone tires.

a friend suzuki dealer of mine was telling me that in a dealers conference in karachi it was stated that the liana will be produced till the parts stock runs out after that they will surely introduce sx4

all the sunnys imported here are made from leftover parts imported from japan. In japan this shape is been closed since ages. Technology wise compare it with 1996~1999 civic. It has worse fuel economy. Engine is noisy, Engine is weak.
Rear suspension is like alto (ver very hard) and starts to rattle after fewthousands KMs. Overall the ride is very firm.

If you are so eager to buy imported stuff thengo for Lancer 2006 onward (it has superb comfort but is also very heavy on fuel)

CNG is not very succesfull in either sunny or lancer.

for my opnion go for good city auto 2008 onward.

I read the defogger thing on PW specifications for Sunny. Resale is not an issue becasue I'm going to keep this car for I think 5+ years so looking for something which is reliable enough to hold its own for that many years.
