Should i replace Voltage Regulator (CUTOUT) or the whole Alternator/Generator it self?

i have a cultus car and it's voltages drop when everything is turned on, voltages should always be more than 13.1 but in my case it is not stable it is sometimes at 13.8 then drop to 12.4 then again goes back to 13.8
So can anyone please tell me with their own pakistani kabbad market experience that what should i replace just the CUTOUT (voltage regulator inside generator) or the whole generator itself ?
CUTOUT will cost me 1000 rupees and the whole generator will cost me 3000.

its a simple diy to replace the regulator you can do it or ask a mechanic to remove from car unpack & you provide him regulator, carbon brush, to replace and refresh the bearing with silicon lubricant and repack. put it back in car, 30 min job tops - agree upon labor before task

Yes skr i know how it should be replaced but the question was that what should i replace? Because i am only gonna get kabli used regulator from market so is it a good choice to just change the regulator or the alternator itself (winding) can go bad too? Because i don't wanna open and then fit the alternator again and again

bad winding does not generate peak voltages and can not take load and battery drain happen often, -
you can buy a new regulator from electrical parts shop

When i starts the car it gives 14.2 voltages and then it does not stabilise and stays between 12.4 to 13.8 voltages while on full load, does that means the regulator is bad or the winding too?
Is it known as "cutout" too as a new component?

yes voltage regulator is also called cutout picture is for reference only

as it controls the battery charging while engine is running & disconnect charging when battery is fully charged

I live in faisalabad, and I've searched it from few shops and all of them are saying that cutout can only be purchased from kabad market and it is not available in new can you please tell me if it is available in lahore or the city from where you are?

ironic, try again searching at new parts shop ask 3S of they can provide a unit or else you can buy from scrap

boss i was having same issue with my mehran 2016 model. When starts its show 13.8 and then on full load it goeas to 10.3 or 10.5. it consumed my car battery in 15 months.

i changed the new battery 38 amp instead of 30 amp standard battery. but still the problem was there even when driving in night when compressor starts the horn goes down and the car feels heavy.

my electrition told me to change the alternator because the built in original alternator of mehran doesnt bear the required load. so he put some kabli generator which was different in shape from that of mehran but the fitting was bolt on.

Now after installing that the volt stays between 13 to 14 on full load which i think is sufficient. the horn and lights function correctly. (i am using 100/90 watts headlight bulbs instead of the original 65 watts)
