Should I swap or repair cultus engine?

Hi Guys,
I have cultus 2002, it had problem with starting in cold and some oil leak from head, and there was a very bad tappet nosie from head.

machine suggested to overhaul the engine I said go ahead. The machine removed the head from the engine, and said the block is way too damaged too be repaired.

he said it won't last much and will weaken even further if engine is not swapped with a kabbali one. he is we can repair but it is not a good idea it won't last long.
I am very scared to swap the engine with a kabali one. I need your good suggestions.

Please have a look at the block and I am really sorry for the bad photos but that is all I got right now.

Cultus is a locally manufactured vehicle.
All parts to rebuild an engine are available brand new.
Block is fine. head is fine, you need to take both items to the machine shop and seek their opinion for list of parts required to rebuild it.

used items from scrap yard have no history and nobody knows about the beating it has taken. Why it is in scrapyard from which vehicle itself is a question.

Changing engine means endorsement to vehicle registration document.

jugaarya class usstad will not rebuild because that will expose his non-sense incompetent skills. He will always recommend swap to make money from both ends.

Thank you so much for your quick response and best advice, that is exactly what I had in mind when I asked him to go ahead open the engine and rebuild it. but he went on other side and said better to change the assembly now then later.

The only point he had and got my attention was this broken area.

This is exactly what I want to do, hopefully he will do a good job if not I am going to get ripped off, I know him for long time and he seems a good guy, I will keep you posted what happens to my car and engine.
