I am planning to buy a fuel efficient hatchback, my preference is Daihatsu Mira. But recently it is heard that Suzuki will soon launch Alto 660 in Pakistan with automatic variant.
I am confused, should I wait for Suzuki Alto or buy Daihatsu Mira?
I think you should wait for alto as rumours are its expected to launch on 15April.

Even if Suzuki does launch Alto, it will be an extremely down graded version with an insanely high price. I would suggest to go for Japan assembled Alto.
I would suggest to wait for PKDM Alto. Its launching in coming months.
Let it unveil, and see its price, specs, features, cost to benefit ratio, etc.
If it suits you, buy it, otherwise, options for used JDM 660 cc cars will always be there.
Alto would definitely be avalible for ramzan / chand raat deliveries.

go for alto - JDM cars have no future and resale - you also waste $ dollars buying second hand japanese junk.
Go for daihatsu mira es. The quality and smooth drive that you get from a mira or japanese alto is way better than any pakiatan made Suzuki. Just have a good look at its ac as 660 cars ac is not that effective in out hot summers.
I think you have got enough votes to help you decide now. Waiting for pkdm alto is a better option as it’ll be a brand new car with factory support and warranty rather than used/repaired mira.
I have a different take, looking at the Mira option and comparing it with the local would be a good idea. the options one gets vs the price difference. I know ther eis a concern with JDM part support and service but incae of mira you get decent support from toyota dealers and bopy panels are easily avaialable. so keepin in mind if you get a JDM that is same price as a PKDM and it is loaded with features then that actualy saves ou a few hundred thousand rupees that can be considered as backup in case something goes wrong.
Also JDM cars are not AGS but CVT so that advantage will always remain. I have driven cultus AGS and it was not a very pleasant experience viz a viz a Mira. keep in mind that mira is 660 whereas cultus is 1000cc and competes in vitz category. vitz is altogether on another level.
I have a corolla facelift and vitz 2012, of the two i prefer the vitz for daily commute.
Thanks everyone, made my mind. I'll wait for Suzuki Alto. Let's see what features they come up with, the price tag will be most important factor for prospective buyers.
I hope, this time Suzuki will launch some relaible and quality car in reasonable price.
Ive been doing research from a long time on this. I was a 100% sure even a year earlier that by the end of 2018 Pak Suzuki will launch 660cc alto in 2015 model built.Based on this I decided to buy a Japanese Alto 660c full variant because the Japanese made quality is exceptional as we all know and when Pak Suzuki will launch the same model the Spare Parts will be widely available in much cheaper prices as compared to other 660cc JDMs. Also the Re sale price will be better as compared to other JDMs.Well, finally Pak Suzuki is launching it now but As far as I know they will price the locally manufactured Alto too high and because of this the Japanese version's price will also get higher.
I'll suggest you to buy a Japanese Alto before Pakistani alto's launch. You can get a Japanese Automatic variant in immaculate condition in the same price as the Pakistani manual variant will be launched.
Reliable and quality are two words Pak Suzuki is completely unfamiliar with. Don't get your hopes too high.

Well, I'll not instantly buy Pak Suzuki Alto on its launch, will definitely consider the quality and features along with the price tag. If it didn't impress me, I'll opt for the Japanese version. Simple.
