Should my friend buy “NISSAN SUNNY 1.3” or “OPTRA”

Dear Fellows,

I am using NISSAN SUNNY 1.3 ( Japanese 2005 model) in Karachi. One of my friend want to buy any Japanese car with a maximum price of Rs. 12,00,000. I advised him to buy NISSAN SUNNY 1.3. He likes both “OPTRA” and “SUNNY” equally.

He is afraid of re-sale, spare-parts, fuel average, space, looks etc.

Please tell me IF “YOU” WERE HAVING A DIFFICULTY in choosing any of the above mentioned cars, which one you would have preferred?

NISSAN got resale and parts
Amd its 1.3
And OPTRA is 1.6 so expencive in fuel
Both are nice cars.
But me go with Nissan

Some weeks ago, a long discussion took place in these forums comparing Optra and Sunny. Try to locate that.

go 4 civic the best option , nissan n optra take times to make market and resale value . in u r buget CIVIC VTI Oriel is the best .

no need for Oriel.
But I will go for a Honda Civic in such a budget.
If you want to pay premium, Corolla 2.0D may also be a good option.

well i vote for optra b'cause the chevrolett company is preparing to assemble the chevy cars in pakistan(tht i read in a newspaper)so, u dont worry abt. the parts or resale. i think it will be the best choice as compared to nissan

Nissan Sunny is a Far better and More reliable Car than the Chevy Optra since the Chevy is actually Daewoo Nubira made in Korea...

Cant ever compare Nissan with Chevy in this case..

ok every body is well known that nissan sunny is the most unsucessfull car in pakistan so why we buy that they are not making good cars for our country all the shapes are way old and bad but if u see nissan for uk and usa u will be amazed they r making excellent cars for them and nissan have zero market and zero resale value in pakistan no look no performance and u cant impress any body with that junk in 1.2 million rs honda is no 1 option if u ask me 2nd one is toyota and may be 3rd one is suzuki liana because suzuki have a great resale in pakistan but i think imported toyota is the option in imported cars right now if i wanna buy a imported car in pakistan i will go for toyota atlis better performance better resale 500 times better than nissan and optra

@afridino1.....who said that shape of Sunny was changed...even in us the shape was same....the model was actually designed by Nissan Japan...so here 92 Nisssan was the same there....same chassis..but difference in engine and not so many varieties...see the new Nissan Sunny Super Saloon...it will take ur breath off...just see the work...car is worth buying...so i don't think that difference comes where....maybe u seen some Hatch models or other..

first of i would like bring in the attention for those repliers who wrote civic and blah blah...... abey yar go thru the topic first , he is camparing sunny with optra.bhai answer is short and sweet if ur concern abt resale.....dont u dare think of buying imported cars( liana, lancer , optra, suny) then only go for local made tanks. imported car those u can effort it.....plus willing to take risk for resale after 3-4 years.buy the way i using OPTRA, and iam very much happy with ma decision.
