I have to visit Karachi for some work so am planning a road trip to Karachi from Lahore in the middle of February with my wife and 1 year old kid.
Since the weather is good I want to visit Multan, Bahawalpur, Sukkur and then Karachi. I will be the only driver. I will make a stopover at Bahawalpur.
Car is Honda City 2011 in excellent condition with Sindh number plate.
1) What are the must see places on this route?
2) What are the Dos and Donts for such a long trip?
3) What are must view places considering I am with my wife and 1 yr old kid?
4) Where should I break the journey? I have planned it in Bahawalpur.
5) What are the road conditions now. I travelled back in 2014 and roads in Sindh were under construction. Which road to avoid and which route to take considering the places I have to visit.
6) Can I include Derawar Fort ? Is it worth seeing and is the road good for a car ?
Places I have in mind are:
Multan - Shah Rukn e Alam, Bahauddin Zakaria tomb
Bahawalpur - Lal Suhanra Park, Noor Mahal, Darbar Mahal, Gulzar Mahal. Musuem (if time permits).
Uch Sharif - Tomb of Bibi Jaiwindi
Sukkur – Sadu Bela, Sukkur Barrage, Lansdowne Bridge, Seven sisters tomb
Arrive in Karachi.
My plan is to depart from Lahore at 3 Am and reach Multan by 7-8 AM. Visit the places as described and proceed to Bahawalpur.
Sightseeing in Bahawalpur and overnight stay in Bahawalpur. (Recommended stay in Bahawalpur)
Leave Bahawalpur at 6 Am and drive to Sukkur. Arrive Sukkur at 12 PM.
Sightseeing and leave sukkur at 2 PM. Arrive at Karachi 8 PM.
On return I will just drive back to Lahore with one overnight stay.
Please advise.
