Single cab Toyota Hilux 4x2 pickup

I am considering the Pakistani made Hilux for its ruggedness over badly pot-holed roads. Has anyone any experience of the ride quality on this thing?

i dont think single cabin assembled in pakistan is being used by privatly. mostly people in category like milkman,security gurad companies or policemen used this Hilux

If u r interested thn try to buy the chasis widout body from toyota indus, rest u can complete from local market, as it's being done by local deletion, it will cost u much lesser thn wat u have to pay to the company, if u want u can convert ur single cabin now to double cabin vehicle wid all mported parts , it's done by MARKS here in Peshawar. all da very best, but to be honest why in first place u wana buy a local S... , now u have the option to have a state of the art japanese variety to choose from, just my opinion, choice z urzzzzzzzzz

try to understand the logic before comments. guy asking is in country where pickup trucks are commonly used and i wont be surprised he owns 1 there too.

yes single cabin is tough rider compared to cars,, and very basic model.. i suggest you go for offroad 4 by 4 truck (toyota import surf etc.. much better choice

Has anyone sat in this vehicle? Do you know what the ride comfort is like?
I am not really much concerned about the status side. The fact that milkmen or lower cadre policemen are associated with this pick up does not worry me. I dont need any extra seating or speed. The torque of the 2.4 Diesel seems adequate to keep a pickup in motion over sandy stuff.
I do need a reliable vehicle which will cope with the high sulphur fuel in Pakistan. Turbo diesels have a reputation for overheating & cracking engines and gaskets. An A/C even if not standard can be retro-fitted.
What does concern me is whether the vehicle will be comfortable to sit in as a driver or as a passenger and also whether a jolty ride rules it out for my old(ish) bones!

Sir, Hilux is a great machine made by Toyota.
u r talking abt 2x4 single cabin. its a great vehicle. powerful n tough for all terrains. great pick (Y). but it has a jolty ride from back coz of rear leaf springs unless u put some weight on the back. front suspension is excellent n front ride too. but the back is :(.
i think 2x4 double cabin, is a much better choice coz it has a less jolty ride as compared to single cabin n also have a more seating capacity. u can use it as a car or as a trcuk.:d

Good to hear from you. This is exactly what I needed to know. I plan to use the vehicle to travel over Kucha and potholed roads and perhaps ferry farm stuff on the flatbed therefore loading up the rear will be no problem. I dont expect many two legged passengers so a double cab will be wasteful.
Landcruisers, Vigos and Pajeros have really silly price tags, the Boltoro is unproven and the Jimny is plain silly.

sir, if loading up the rear is no prob for u then don't think twice. Just go for it, 2x4 single cabin(Y). best vehicle for kacha n pakaa ( off-road n on-road) will never disappoint u .

new parts easily availabe, mechanics have well know how abt this, 2nd hand,kabuli parts easily availabe all over Pakistan.

I have also lived in Saudi Arabia for sometime and nearly 95% of people from desert areas use this car and they do wonders with it. In my opinion it`s really one of the best off road car available..
