Skardu airport to Fairy meadows and return via deosai

My Friends

We are a group of 40 year old's. After much bickering, we have agreed on the following plan. We would be truly grateful if you could advise on its feasibility;

24th; fly to Skardu. Go straight to fairy meadows (travel time to raikot being shown on google is 3 : 40 hours, from there will will manage)
25th; explore Fairy meadows, come down in the afternoon and travel to Rama Meadows
26th; visit minimerg, stay night there if we get the booking, else glamping in Deosai
27th; Deosai; move back to Skardu for the night
28th; skardu
29th; fly back

P.s the uncles are more interested in sight seeing, relaxation and do not want a too hectic trip.

From Skardu to Raikot, via KKH approx 5-6 hrs
Raikot to FM . 1.5 hrs jeep + 3-4 hrs hike .
FM to view point 3 hrs hike --> base camp is another 2 hrs.
FM to Raikot 5 hrs approx on return .
Raikot to Astore --> 2.5 - 3 hrs approx,
Astore to rama is 1 hr drive -- > further jeep trek if want to visit rama lake , another 2-3 hrs
Astore to mini merg via chillam choki .... burzil pass, approx 3.5 -4 hrs , jeep trek,
chillam to deosai -- sheosar , 1.5 hrs, forward to skardue via bara panni, another 3-4 hrs approx .

Plan accordingly.

I just recently did a trip to Skardu and I want to suggest a few Tweeks.

Fairy Meadows is not that close to Skardu and you would need to hire transportation from Skardu to Raikot which would be around 140+ kms and then from Raikot bridge to Tattu village (jeep track). There is badass trek that uncles will have to do from Tattu but the prize in the end is worth it.
Or
Another option for you guys is Basho Valley near Skardu.
Land at Skardu and head straight to Basho. Jeeps (the track is similar to Fairy Meadows in terms of beauty and thrill and danger) will take you guys from edge of Indus to a steep climb and it takes around 1 hour. Then you'll find yourself I'm a very beautiful meadow with plenty of forest area to explore and comfortable camping sites.

You can spend a couple of days there and then head back to Skardu and explore Skardu (even a week is not enough to explore all the beautiful places around Skardu) and next day can head to Deosai where you can camp or glamp at Sheosar lake or head to Rama and Astore.

But if you really want to go to Fairy Meadows then you should plan a flight to Gilgit instead. Raikot bridge from where the fairy meadow jeep track starts is a lot closer to Gilgit compared to Skardu.

Doing places like Fairy Meadows, Astore, Rama, Deosai and Skardu in one go is a bit (read "a lot") hectic. So if I were you (I am an uncle too since almost reaching 40) I would do it like this ,

Day 1) land in Skardu (get an S-Com sim) and head straight to Basho valley. It's around 20 kms from airport and there is a spot right on the main road where rental jeeps are parked, hire a jeep and head to Basho. Settle in any of the campsites there and relax (ask your Jeep driver to come pick you up early in the morning, jeep rate is 8000 Rs.

Day2) Explore Basho meadow and the forest area.

Day 3) Leave for Skardu early in the morning, find a hotel and then hire a Prado and explore Sarfaranga and Katpana desert. You will have a lot of fun even if you are an uncle. Go to Shigar Fort. Come back to your hotel in the evening.

Day4) Head for Khaplu, 4 hour drive, visit khaplu fort and then back to Skardu. You'll get the best view of Indus there!

Day 5) Go for Upper Kachura lake and Soq Valley.

Keep Deosai in the end. It shall be the climax of your tour.

Day 6) Deosai!!! Always hire a Prado and never a Bj-40. Bj-40s are cheaper but they will break your back. Uncles won't like that.
Head to Sheosar and then Astore, Rama, Minimarg. Come back next day to Skardu (day 7).

Day 8) flight back home.

If you still have more days then there is Khamosh and Mantohkha waterfall as well that you can and should visit.
