I have an automatic transmission 12 civic reborn. I have noticed my car has a slow response when accelerating like it has lost its quick pick-up when pushing the pedal.
I am consistently getting hesitation from around 1500-2000 or 2500-3000 rpm under partial throttle. If I floor it, the hesitation seems to go away.
No codes at all.
any ideas?
The issue started after I replaced HPS with electronic steering but I don't think it has anything to do with RPM lag.
Please help!!!
anyone?
You are facing what is called bog down, which is imbalance of fuel mixture. It can be lean or rich, both will manifest as bog.
Before diving into deep analysis, check if your ignition system is top notch, all spark plugs good and not ancient or tired etc. no air leaks at MAF etc
thanks for replying. Today I went to honda 3s and got MAF and spark plugs checked. They cleaned the plugs and said these are okay. No MAF sensor light as well.
Should I try high-octane fuel?
You went to a useless dealership!
What the heck is a maf light?
I meant the engine light. No MAF sensor code on the scanner.
Update: Issue went awayChanged oil, oil filter, air filter, got throttle cleaned, tappets set, used high octane fuel.
Now I have another issue on my book. When going uphill, car makes krrrrrrrrr noise. Can't catch a break!!!
that doesnt mean sensor is good
brown-blackish. Does this mean I need to change the plugs?
Interesting, can a noobie like me self diagnose or I have to search for expert mechanic?
There is no such thing as expert mechanic. One has to be good at certain things himself.
Pic will help
You may need to visit someone who has extensive tooling like a dso and an understanding on what to look for in the output.
Its not a diy job if you are a fresh green mechanic.
