Small Compressor in Big Cars

HI people,

I have a question regarding AC systems in cars.

if we use an AC system of a small car like Mehran/cuore/cultus in a big car like corola.Will it reduce the load on the engine of the big car.
to my knowledge big cars have big compressors which has heavier load on the engine as compared to the small car compresors.

Let me know if we can do? and if we cannot do that what are the reasons?

Newer car comes with scroll type compresosr with Multi flow condensor and they put almost no load at all on engine.

For example you cant even tell in new toyota corolla when a/c compresosr engaged but in older one you could clearly feel the loss of power.

So if you want to reduce load try and find scroll type compressor for your car with a multi flow condensor.

Yes,you are right . I have also heard that scroll type compressor don't put much load on the engine.but I was trying to find out why the small compressors used in small cars are not used in big cars.
will it reduce the load on the engine?

small cars have small cabin n low cooling..big cars have big room and better cooling..so big compressors for big cars and small compressor for smaller ones..

the A/C story does not end with the size of compressor, its also dependant on the size of the condenser, evaporator and what sort of system is used, is it orifice tube or expansion valve.

The whole A/C should be sorted out correctly with an evaporator big enough to effeciently reduce the cabins humidity and also temperature - this is also tagged along with the properties of the TXV or size of the orifice and accumulator.

Its not as simple a case as you mention.

i wonder if a scroll type compressor wud work on a mehran better than its original

yes it would, you should be running a multiflow condenser in it and a similar multiflow evaporator and a correct expansion valve and good fans on both coils. That way it will yield the best result.

Sorry guys I hate to be a pest ,but I am posting these question due to curosity.
I have observed a few things..
1.There is not a huge difference in the cabin of small cars and big cars.

1. the big cars have a better interior which can hold the cooling of the AC.

3.AC cooling in big cars is often no needed to its full power.I mean big car coolin is way more than the actual need.we often keep the cooling of big cars at average or low.seldom high cooling is used.

so if we use a small compressor which can perform very well on a big engine why dont we use it..will it perform well or there will be some depreciation issue of the comperessor..

condenser
evaporator
TXV

and fit them in a corolla.

It wont work, the system will be working nearly all the time to reduce the temperature - but it wont succeed. The heat load is higher in a corolla than a coure.

To answer you own question, why not stuff all of this in a Hiace Van
