Last weekend I decided to attempt Leepa valley in snow. I was expecting heavy snowfall in Leepa Valley as per forecast but we got much more than that. We could not reach main Leepa valley (Leepa Village) but managed till Reshian Top (3200 m) by trekking from Reshian Village. Leepa Valley can be reached by a road branching from Hattian bazaar on the Chakoti road from Muzaffarabad. It is approximately 100 Kms from Muzaffarabad. This road is in good condition and cars can also reach till Reshian only last few Kms are jeep track. We reached Lumnia Village late night under constant snow but decided to attempt Reshian. It was after midnight and we were by far the only ones on the road. Just a few Kms before Reshian the snow became impossible to handle and or vehicle was slipping dangerously so we decided to retreat and stay the night in Lumnia Village. <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o:p></o:p>Next morning we arranged a jeep from for Reshian which costed 1800 RKR. We reached after 1 hours drive. From there it was all trekking till we could see the Reshian top beyond which the proper Leepa Valley starts. It would have taken the complete day to reach Leepa from there in 4-5 feet snow. We decided to return from there to Chikkar and see Lake Zilzal also on our way back. <o:p></o:p>Over all it was a great trip in which we had a nice adventure and a different experience of Leepa in winters. yes considering that we sarted from wah and came back to islamabad from gari habibullah route a total of about 600 kms
