Road to Shogran will be open until Nov end?

road will be open. In case of snowfalling road will be open but like nathia gali i.e. there will be loads of snow on the road. it will be a difficult climb on cars and even 4x4s. Driver needs to be experienced and able to climb the car/jeep on snow. But i would not recommend taking ur car at this time. better to take local jeeps. If you are taking car then I would advice to park your car at kiwai and then move ahead with jeeps. But it will be a scary climb. The road is so narrow that u-turns are extremely hard to negotiate. So incase your car gets stuck it will be a nightmare for you and your family. That is why I said that best place to visit with family during snow season is Muree. As it is very safe climb and you can get hot water and gas heater 24/7 in ur room.
If you like to take risk and want to see a lot of beauty then shugran is best during snow fall.

agree with bluehorn.. in snowfall your hotelling option will also be very limited in shogran so i dont think its wise to go with family.. instead you can add Thandiani with your plan of Muree and Nathiagali..

did the hotel you stayed in have 24/7 hot water? i doubt it.
Regarding comfortability, Muree is very good but yes it can get crowded. Although snow season doesnt see as many tourists as summer season.
If you are talking only about being beautiful then best place would be to visit shugran. Its hotel pine park is open all year around. And that place will not be crowded at all and you can enjoy the scenery.
but if one is going with family and dont want to play it safe then muree is best.

agar itna bhi manage nahi kar sakta banda to mere khayal se usay winter main jana he nahi chahiye wese hamen heater mila hua tha jab chahty the garam ker lete thy just in 5 min ...!
Or bhai jahan tak shogran ke baat he to wo aik different rout he main muree/nathiagali ko shogran se compare nahi kar sakta but Nathia gali snow time main shogran se bhi ziada beautiful lagta hy .... (This is my Experience ho sakta ap ne winter main shogran ko behter paya ho)
any ways apni apni thinking or nature hy we like discipline & Sukoon jo k muree main kahen nazar nahi aati ...!

well one can have a look at these things that u have mentioned in DHA lahore or Mall of Lahore, no worries, why to go to Murree to see those tarsi hui ladies:)

Last week of Jan, or first week of feb would be fun...
i went on 2nd feb to 5 feb two years back....muree, patriata, ayubia, and nathyagali and all galiyat were white.
