Solo trip to Khunjerab Pass on Honda City

Dear Friends,
Assalamoalaikum.

I am planning a solo road trip from Peshawar to Khunjerab Pass this May 2018. I have the only concern whether the Honda City 2010 is the ride good for the trip? Have heard about bad patches of road. I am preferring the Babusar Top.

Right ride for you tour but tyres should like new and engine should smoke less

@drnuman1 thank you Dr sb. Yes, the engine is water throwing AlhamdoLILLAH and installed Dunlop 6060 tyres a month ago.

i don't think you ll have any problem. Just one. Going solo. its going to be too long and tiring drive.
Yes when they just open the road for all kind of traffic, crossing some glaciers can be tricky but wont harm your ride much. have a good trip.

Came from khunjerab last night on my Swift.there won't be any problem in City 2010 if its well maintained.

Naveed bhai I am also thinking of this point definitely. In case of closure, Mansehra to Chillas road has to be followed.

babusar pass is closed for now, it will probably open end of may. Bisham route is the only option

Last year Aug 2017 i went to Khunjerab Pass from Lahore, On Honda City (4 Persons) and the road was great, only had 35 KM rough from Babu Sir Top to Challas due to heavy land sliding, rest of all road is great till Khunjerab pass there is no issue, go ahead and enjoy your lifetime trip.

Dear drkhan3,

Last year I went to Khunjrab Pass from Lahore on Honda City 2014 and GLI 2012. Both went well. There was even landslide last year in Babusar area which my both cars crossed without issues (without passengers). As many people have suggested, make sure your tyres and breaks are in excellent condition. These are the only two things which will keep you safe while coming down from Babusar and Khunjrab Pass. Make sure you have an extra tyre in good condition. Many time tyre get burst by small stones in between Babusar and Chillas area.

Make sure you don't start to watch the mesmerize scenery while driving - one of the primary reason of accidents. And please please don't go fast, be very very attentive while driving specifically on Babusar and Khunjrab pass height and slops.

I've travelled through Babusar twice with my family last year and my suggestion is: you must have someone with you not because you enjoy solo but for the sake of being careful, sometimes mishaps happen? City is good option for one or two passengers if there r'nt any sliding patches in between, car with better road clearance is much better option. Please check for your brakes, tyres, oil etc before moving and Inshallah you will be fine.
Don't travel in dark - may be the police won't let you as well "my suggestion". Rest! the landscape is worth seeing.

As others have said, your car should do well if maintained properly. But i would still suggest two people as anything can happen in such a remote area. Otherwise good luck with your trip. Hope you enjoy.
