Some questions on Lancer 1.6glx

Hello guys, I need some info on the Lancer 1.6 GLX. I know it’s a great car, and its great value for money, but I have some questions that I would like to ask here and can you guys help me out, because maybe in the near future I may buy one.

Does the car feel underpowered?
How is the leg room in both front and rear seats? (As compared to a rollla’ as I already own one)
Is the ride of the car any good? (As compared to a rollla’ as I already own one)
Handling of the car, is it good? (As compared to a rollla’ as I already own one)
How much is the running cost of the car? (As in oil changes etc.)
Resale isn’t much of an issue for me, as I would be using it for over 3 years, but are the spares available in the Mitsubishi Workshop?
How are the brakes of the car?

See I own 2.0d and an Altis, was planning to sell the 2.0d and buy the 2.0d Saloon(because of ABS), but frankly I don’t have 2 of the same cars and don’t want to be stuck with the same interior on both cars. But as we all know that petrol prices are high(Considering Altis is still on petrol), how does a Lancer 1.6 run on CNG, is there great power loss or anything. Because my cousin recently converted his XLI to CNG and it runs fine, so how does a Lancer go on CNG, is there a greater amount of power loss or anything?

As we install CNG, do I then have to change the rear shocks or dampers of the car?
Will I still have the warranty if I install CNG in the car?
Do I have to have frequent oil changes when the CNG is installed (by the way that isn’t a problem as the 2.0d also required frequent oil changes)

I see your a fan of the Lancer, can you help me out here.

as long as don't try racing it you'll never feel a lack of power in the 1.6L lancer. Head and legroom (front and back) is the same as a 05 civic. Ride is very solid, as is the handling (it's a little better than the rolla and civic in fact).

Not too sure about the running cost since i don't have one (at the moment). OIl/plugs & filters shoudl be about the same for a rolla. Spares are a little more expensive but you are paying for the quality. Brakes are DAMN good on a lancer (up-to-par with the civic)

Guncha has done a little research into the lancers wheel well and found that you shuld be able to fit a pair for smaller cylinders there. if you opt for this solution you should n't have to relace the shocks/springs since it'll be like having a little bit of lugage in the boot (but will have a full boot which you can use as well).

As for the rest of the CNG questions, that is not my field but i'm sure spectra, testdriver, guncha, SER_GTR etc will be along shortly...

nw i m tellin u wats my friend experience abt it,,,
he actually owns 1.6,,,sports version n automatic transmission...
i also drive tht car,,,
advantages:
its a very good car,,,,comforatable,,durable,,,handling is good,,,n its also specious car,,,for both rear n front seats,,,
n also its acceleration is also good,,
Disadvantages,,,
it doesnt burn petrol it drink petrol...i mean its not a economic car,,,spare parts r very expensive,,,
my firned once hit his car from front,,n he broke the fronts lights,,,gril,Ac grill,,bumper,,n a litlle bit damage to exterior of the front,,,
n when he give hs car to mitsubishi for repairness,,
u kow how much thy charge him????

i agree that if you floor an auto lancer it'll use up alot of fuel. but the reasoning behind that is that if it is driven how it should be driven (gently) it'll give you decent milage.

lancers, rollas, civcs optras etc are not performance cars, they are economy sedans.

i booked one for myself (1.6 MT / SR) still am awaiting for delivery ....

on 18th it'l be one month since i had deposited the money .... keepin fingers crossed for ma new car ...

i chose dark blue color .... and Mitsubishi are short of that color ... otherwise i would have gotten delivery ... (they told me that black and blue are the most ordered colors) ...

with a full price deposited as down payment, its a bit disappointing for me not to get any confirmation so far as to when will i get my new car ...

about the parts prices .... someone mentioned on the site that the prices have been revised a bit downwards ???? any clues to that ???

spacaious, luxurious, good handling, no problem of spare parts available at showroom, handling cost upto u (means agar aap full care karoge to its will last long and its with all cars) baki brakes r good too, agar kuch nahin hai to sirf resale but woh bhi ho jaegi cause abhi bohot pakistani corolla aur civic se bahar nahin aae. well sorry if i said something harsh. no offence.

all in all lancer go for it.

yar i own a 2004 vti oriel prosmetic. and now i have purchased a 1300 cc lancer.gl as compared to civic its power stearing is much softer and quiker, car is light weight and drive is much more comfortable than civic , no engine sound and that of tyres running on road comes in the cabin. my lancer is giving 13.5km per liter in city with ac. agar accelrator zor ka do gay tu petrol khae ge i got this milage with a speed of 60 to 65 km/hr. breaks r also good civc is abs and 4 wheel disk but lancer does not let u feel that it is not abs or 4w disk. its a very good car just go for it.

oil filter and air filter r same price as that of corolla and honda. u should not worry for mechanical problems as 2 years warrenty is their . just take a test drive and go for it.

it,s a good car though but always gets lost in the market coz of high prices of spares

well in the cng department, i have asked a couple of guys and they say that it runs very welll if installed properly with the right electronics including lambda feedback system.... as storm mentioned, you can fit small cylinders in the spare wheel well as it is squarish in shape... you have all the boot to your self... the only drawback, is i think the expensive parts

Tell me that I have eaten shit. 87,000 for power steering. R u sure kkoool and as the other guy said 205000 for the repair after an accident. Is it lancer or merc????

i used glx 1.3 cng lancer for a week in islamabad.
here r my comments,

its drive is much better theen corolla & civic, handling is great, its breaks r better then civic EXI's disk brakes.

it gives smooth drive even on cng, that was with 60kg cylender, dont know where from that was fitted.

its leg room is comfortable, rear passengers have more space then other vehicles in this class.

interior is also so attractive, wooden touch & beige color gives great look.

if you dont have problem with resale, then ofcourse go for it,,, & dont forget to INSURE your car, because in case of any accident you can save money, its parts are really expensive, like headlight, bumpers etc etc.

Hurry, Take ur decision, otherwise DEWAN gonna apply same old price later. or better if you find a registerred car with low milage, because it will exempt your initial expenses & the loss will go to original buyer.
