Sony or Samsung LCD TV?

im using Samsung Series4 40" since 7months now, its been a superb experience especially with the Philips DVD which upscales vids to 1080p connected via HDMI cable, used sony but sold it, it wasnt that impressive, samsung all the way

buy samsung & preferably series 5, just excellent. sony sells its name in Pakistan, nothing else!

Got it for Rs 95,000/- including wall mount. But they advertise it for Rs 99,900/-

How much is the 32" samsumng LCD going for these days ? more over, is there custom/duty if I were to bring an LCD from new york ? I use it for both viewing TV and hooking up my computer. I know computer monitors dont have custom. how about these LCD tv's ?

Samsung 32" series 4 is for Rs 56,000/- though it is being advertised at Rs 59,900/-. Dont know about duties etc.

did you buy it from the dealer or private shop ? what's the best place and price to buy samsung or sony from in islamabad ? does anyone know ?

and how do the warranties work if we dont buy straight from the dealer ?

everybody has its own liking and disliking but seriously i got it for 56000 and was very happy until i went to samsung site which was saying that the contrast ratio of the lcd is 10000 but the sticker on the lcd was of 30000 contrast ratio my best buddy who is a big fan of samsung also got surprised by this, second thing there were dark lines appearing and thirdly i connected my laptop with lcd via hdmi and surprisingly the result was horrible

to cut the long story short i replaced the lcd in just 4 days and bought sony. some people do say that samsung is making lcd for sony that doesnt matter, sony filtering aur technology ka no match but one thing is true samsung looks good in showroom.

sony itself is not so amazing... amazing lcds we cant afford....

actually while doing some research on samsung I visited numerious shops in blue area around Usmania. They did have older version of 4 series which had a contrast ratio of 10,000: 1 , while the newer stock came with 30,000:1 contrast ratio. I also checked philips S series and their newer stock also had improved ratio.
Dont know about any lines in my LCD atleast, while I dont have HDMI cable but results with PC via normal VGA cable are excellent.
