Soun Valley, The Expedition

I took this ride last Sunday. The adventure was taken by us armed with our bike and a bottle of water. We were two of us on my 125 and the destination was a place in the fmaous Soun valley, District Khushab.

We started at 10 o' clock so the sun comes up, as it was pretty cold out there.

We started by taking a shortcut to the main road...bad luck as the last night's rain had its impressions left on the road.

One of the places to be visited was an old temple that we had heard about. But to our utmost disgust we could not go there because the whole area had been controlled by the army, so we moved ahead from to another great place nearby.

On our way we stopped by for taking pic of this heavenly scenery..but it was damn too cold here.

This is the double road that is under construction for the army to have easy approach to the encroached area.

Our next destination was a place called Nursing Park. An off-road by road takes you here, from which point you have to walk down the mountain to reach there.

We parked the bike on the side and made our way down..

A man in-charge here told us that this place was constructed before the creation of Pakistan.

Guess what, we discovered a temple here too:

The mountain in front had a unique colour. The picture does not do justice. It was purple in colour:

From this park, a track takes you further down. We took this path.

There we discovered Sulphur:

Have you ever seen orange colour rocks?

Amazing are the colours of the earth:

Down this hill is a flour grinding machine that works with the pressure of the spring water that falls from the mountain..

This pic was taken from on our way back upwards, half way down the mountain. Imagine how much hiking we had done..

Back up, I was glad to see my bike again. It wasn't really safe leaving it like that on a lonesome place like this..

Took some tea to kill the cold on our way back..

^ You have a CD 70 dear. I am not sure if a CD 70 can go to places like this or not. I'll contact you before our next programme, perhaps next month.

@7th gear. You did a nice job. I spend two weeks in soan valley in oct. 07 and now again going there in March 2008.

@7th gear. When u next time plan for soan valley , go to Kanhati Garden. After crossing Garden there are two wheat grinding machines(pan chaki). The water fall after the second "pan Chaki" is worth seeing.
In last oct we went there , cook food and enjoyed a lot.

(Y) Very nice trip u had. I think its time for LBC(Lahore Bikers Club) to decide the next trip for Same place.

BTW how was weather there these days? i mean is it suitable if we travell from Lahore to Soun Valley & is there any resort or some Inn available for over night stay?
