Spano CiviC X 1.5 Turbo and Add-ons (ما شاء الله)

This is rear trunk lining that reached me.
it included the clips that were required to install it.

A friend (Qazi Abdullah) helped me in installing this trunk lining.
its pretty simple.
there are 9 clips and that's it.

now there is a problem.

in PKDM civic, since hinge covers doesn't come from the factory, therefore there were no holes for the clips
so I couldn't install it there and then.
.
It became a DIY for me

For making holes, I had to drill the hinges.
I wanted to be extra cautious for its positioning because, there was no second chance if I make a mistake

I am sharing all the steps with pictures.
.
but believe me I repeated these steps ten times to make sure again after I made sure.
I wanted the perfect position to drill the hole.

why is that dear

I placed the cover over the hinge.
this is left (passenger) side

I marked the position of the clip with a permanent marker.
on the left hinges, there are cables as well. these will also get a cover.

each hinge cover will be held with two clips, one from upside and one from the bottom.

Now comes the third stage of the DIY

whats the diameter of the clip?
which drill bit should I use?

after measuring, I came to know that upper clip is 8 mm
..

.
lower clip measures slight less than upper one.
.

Always remember while drilling.
.
its good to start from the smaller size and gradually drill your required size in steps.
.
I used these three sizes.
.
First was to make a small hole.
.
Second size was done for opening the hole.
Third size was used on on the upper holes.
.

Its always good to sharpen your tools

There is an important thing to share.
when ever you are drilling. specially in metals.
always make a punch (depression)
.
Center Punch is the tool name that is used for this purpose.
.
a tool consisting of a metal rod with a conical point for making an indentation, to allow a drill to make a hole at the same spot without slipping.
.
Center was Punched for all four markers for drilling.
