Speakers for Honda City 2010 Back Doors

Hi guys,

I want to install rear speakers in my honda city 2010, but before that i've some questions and require some help too... i'm using stock alpine unit and the sound from the front speakers is awesome for me... i've adjusted the bass and treble thing on it, and i'm a very light listener too..so here are some of my querries

1. Does honda City is pre wired for the rear speakers, if not (does it require to open the doors only or the deck too.

2. Which of the speakers model are best kenwood or pioneer.

i have a city 09 but i never noticed its rear speakers donot work...will check it now... sound quality is satisfying for me....

You have to get new wire all the way for new speakers also swap ur PRe if u want something out of those speakers since OE equipped PRE has pathetic quality

Get 6X9 Alpine Type R for 7-8K rS or Kewnoowd X693 for 6.5K Rs.

sir back doors of city are pre-wired. there is just one black paper type sheet sticked on the holes for 6" speakers you just have to buy 6" speakers and attach to the wires and u r good 2 go.

I personally bought two stock speakers and installed with stock wires in back doors

About quality :: SATISFACTORY not so impessive
for better quality u must go for components....thats even my future plan

like Ogre said, they are pre wired, you just have to swap the speakers. They are 6.5 speakers not 6x9s.

Waisay why do you want to change the rear speakers? why not invest on the front ones?

Front speakers are the ones which you will notice the most in terms of sound quality improvement.

But still if you want to... IMO Infinity Reference 6.5 coaxial or Alpine Type R coaxial are nice speakers

OR

IMO what should be done is, you shift your front speakers to the rear and get some good speakers or comps for the front.

thanks for the suggestions everyone lets see... if its pre wired than its too good.... i think front speakers are good quality it meets my requirement... and the rear speakers will fulfil the things which the current system lacks

Did you have to get an amp?

I am also looking to add some basic speakers to the back doors. But want to keep the stock pre.. plus the output of the stock speakers are good enuff for me.

The main problems is that there is no speakers in the rear doors at all. They have given space.. But unfortunately no speakers

yup sorry my bad, true there is space for the rear speakers only but no speakers.

i was all set for the speakers today.... but the shop wala said there are no pre wiring... may be he had not worked in this car before... so i dropped the whole idea.... can anyone confirm me the wiring... ??? he said k he've installed component in city so no idea about the wiring... btw... kenwood 718 china 1st copy for rs.1700 with installation day raha tha... was it a good deal... caz i've no idea about the speakerss :!

btw i'm still looking for the stock speakers of the same car... caz i've the idea about its results.... 718 to be true weren't sounding that good....

Im no speaker whiz, but from my understanding 718's are 6 x 9 in size. So unless you are contemplating cutting up the place under the rear window (behind the rear seats) they are not going to fit. You need 6.5" round speakers for the doors.

SPEAKERS:

1. KENWOOD 718=6200/(ORIGINAL)*
2. KENWOOD 718=4800/ (BRAND NEW BUT STOLEN ONES)
3. KENWOOD 718 =2500/(CHINA 1ST COPY)
4. KENWOOD 718 =1000-1500/(CHINA 2ND COPY)

Regarding the 718's you were quoted, they seem like quite a bargain at 1700 installed. Also from my understanding you will need a 2 channel amp to run them with the stock alpine pre and the stock speakers.

The Alpine pre's built-in amplifier is 45W X 4 ("16 watts RMS/45 peak x 4 channels") and one 718 is 80W so it wont be able to handle them and the front speakers simultaneously.

718 (originals) need an amp to play properly. they will not fit in the doors. they will fit in the parcel shelf (rear deck) only after you cut it it a lil bit.

if you are going to add only one set of speakers then you should add component speakers to the front channel. component speakers are high quality speakers in which the tweeter and the mid (woofer) are separate i.e. components. they have a crossover system which separates the frequencies so that the tweeter only gets the high frequencies and the mid/woofer only gets the mid/low frequencies. this way the system plays more efficiently and the sound quality is also high.

get the components installed in the front doors. you will need an amp to run them properly. the stock speaker will sound pathetic once you have heard the components. you can get sony components for around 5500 or if you are willing to spend more you can get pioneer 1720 or alpine components.

I can confirm that there is wiring for the rear door speakers as I have seen it myself. There is proper grip but dont let the installer cut it off, just tell him to draw out required length of wire from original wiring by peeling off its insulation.

bro there is no space for 718 in city 2010 for that you have to change the back plastic board and have to make holes on the back of seats, aur yaad aya kay apki car ki diggi ki operating roads bhi disturb kerti hain while installing 6"x9" speakers in diggi.
so the only plece left is back door panels which are only for 6" speakers or for good components.

sir gee i know kay apki pre achi hai mager sorry to say City taxi lagti hai is pre kay sath having blue,green and white lights jubkay city ki all dash lights orange main hain. aur dusri baat jub aap full awaz kholo to apko awaz main boht shor aata hai is kay liay aap ko amp ki zarurt perti hai (ager to aap humari terhan doray ho aur ziada awaz sunanay kay shokin ho to) otherwise on low volume stock speakers are good enough

these can easily fit in new city rear doors
