Speed Breakers on Islamabad Expressway

Less than a week after its inauguration, Islamabad Police (or whoever) have already started de-facing the hitherto clean and comfy Islamabad Expressway (10 lane) by planting speed breakers on (at least) two points on each side of the expressway for the "safety" of the pedestrians crossing the highway. The breakers are made up of bulging plastic strips nailed to the highway on 6 high speed lanes (excluding the heavy traffic side lanes). They are preceded by 2 double lines of medium sized metal cat-eyes roughly 20-30 meters apart. The breakers are the "dead-slow" type and you can't just ignore them. My first expressions "WTF?!?!?!"

BTW, the breakers are near Kuri Road and Zia Mosque stops for people who commute often on this route.

yaar speed zara se sahi ho nikaali ja sakti hai gaari araam se...no problem...haan par tyres acchay honay chahiye warna...khair jo do hard lanes hain un pe yeh breaker nahi hain...to agar koi bohat hi jaldi mai hai aur in se bachna chahta hai to extreme left wali two lanes mai chala jai...trucks k bach bach k...

Yea was amazed to c them there yesterday. 10 lane Highway with zebra crossing and speed breakers. Wow!

speed breakers on highway :O...damn that can only happen in Pakistan...I mean why cant they make overhead bridges for pedestrians or underground tunnel which goes underneath road :S

Who comes up with this stuff? I mean.. really. PTV should hire him to reform their comedy programs because he sure as hell knows how to play the world's best practical joke.

I'd just enjoy the show and count the amount of cars that get faked out at 80km/h with their suspensions broken mercilessly.

please give the complete picture to the people who dont know about this highway
there are people living on both the sides of the highway and people cross from one side to another.every year several people die crossing this highway

few years back a baba jee jumped right infront of my friends cars in attempt to cross the highway. the old man died and my friends car was locked and blah blah blah for being on the wrong place at the wrong time :S

i must say its ridiculous...Highways are not meant for speed breakers as they are non stop and speed roads...Speed breakers should be made on small streets and residential areas only

well i may self did not knew what were you talking about but saw a report of EXPRESS channel story is that there is no zebra crossing etc so ppl cross the road and accidents happen to they put those there very stupid act with is the need to make 5 lanes if it is going to have a speed breaker.
