Speed Breakers on Islamabad Expressway

I pass through the express way daily as i also live in bahria town.. I am truly sick of those bumps.. It feels as if we are driving through land mines.. The biggest problem with our country is, we realise to solve a problem after we have created it.. if the would have started building those iron bridges while developing the road, it would have been more convinient.. but still we are thankful to them that they realised the flaw and are putting up the bridges.. as far as our citizen pedestrians are concerned, they dont give a f*u* if you go to hell, they will still cross the road thinking the driver will do anything not to hit them.. Its lack of awareness, illteracy or simply stupidity mixed wit jahilpan...

As far as the Traffic police are concerned, I truly have great respect for those guys.. they are arrogant sometimes but are doing a good job with dedication..

On highway? Does any body remember speed breaker on motorway? When coming from lhr to isbd, it was between sukhekhi and sial service areas.. At the end of a bridge.... :S at the speed of 120Km/h u have to brake and see the rear view mirror for a cheeta coming behind u at the same speed :S many times double indicator ON kar k indication di to bacha tha.... It has been removed now

There are no problems left except for the few speed breakers still remaining and educating our dear awam that how to use over head bridges.

can you imagine having speed breakeds on a major hi-way in any other city in the world? only in pakistan can the developeers be so short sighted and stupid. all they had to do was dig a few tunnels (with adquate drainage/pumps) and they wouldn't have had to build those horrible bridges. i've tried crossing those metal monstrosities and even for someone in my condition (somewhat physically fit) i found them hot and tiresome,.. imagine some old woman trying to climb those stairs. it seems in PK the developers of such things are only concerend with doing the bare minimum required. sad.

people here are morons, in EVERY traffic rulebook in the world pedestrians have the right of way on zebra crossings but in pk people try and run them over. a number of times i've stopped to let them cross (used to be on 9th avenue) and the people behind me start honking.

Even if they do make overhead bridges hamari jahil qaum road se he guzraygi and jub koi aagay aa kur mur jayega tu AS USUAL gari walay ki galti hogi!!! And these speed breakers suck big time!! Hate them!! SO i always go on the heavy traffic lane

I agree with Storm i once crossed these over head bridges on Peshawar road and beleive me while coming back i was not in the mood of crossing via that bridge :p.

I also saw tunnels on Peshawar road and they are way better than these bridges.

And Waisa educate hum nay logo ko kia karna hai i have seen a lot of people with Pakwheels stickers driving like idiots..

Infront of SaudiPak tower they have installed these pedestrian signals where you can push a button for the trafic to stop and for 1st week or so i saw no body was intrested in stopping because it was a pedestrian signals and people werre crossing on red lol.

Than they had get one trafic police wala there all the time who now when red stops the trafic i mean this is just pathetic.

there are accidents seem i dnt knw how they happen but on that spot thay occur. triffic police should remove them and build over bridge for pedsten.

Now that we have 4 overhead bridges operational on Expressway on each side (two Operational and two partially operational), but still what I can see is many people prefer crossing the road rather than using overhead bridge. Even one of the overhead bridges has the facility for cyclist and motorcyclist too, but they don't care for their lives. I mean, is there any authority to educate such ppl, rather FORCE them to use the overhead bridges?
I think for the time being, its ITP's responsibility to educate/force them to use overhead bridges. Also, I don't see ITP regulating the traffic rules defined for LTV/HTV/Motorcycle Lane.

How can CDA be different form rest of the nation----sadly most of the people in our authorities are born losers.

The highway exapnsion project started in 1999 and ended in 2009 and you know it was just from Zero Point to Airport turning.

And they killed it by putting shoddy speed breakers with sprouting up screws or nails in them.

I simply hate them.

They must have made pedestrian underpasses as Pakistanis to not like overhead pedestrian bridges, most of them installed at Murree Road and 7th Avenue are not so much used.

What is the point of building a multi billion rupees highway and then run the traffic at snails pace?
