Ali batteries in beetles have always been inside the cabin. Did you see they're concealed properly by the amplifier plank.
I know dry cell battery should be.used in such a setup but I was faving a little budget constraints when in came to batteries. IA in near future you shall see one here.
As far as the relocation is concerned, thats not possible because theres no room in the boot or engine bay area. Until yet I didnt encounter any fumes.
Ah is ampere/hour..eg a 100Ah battery will give 100A / 1hour continuously or 50A /2hour or 200amp/30mins. Get the point?. Well actually 100A battery means it will give 100A/h. I hope I have clarified it for you.

i have no pb in batt placement all i want to say bhai acid fume always inside cabin,safety hazard thats it
2nd thing suppose max amp of this batt is 100Amperes divide it by 60 to get ampere/hr=1.6AH
suppose 1 batt got max amperes of 2100 divide it by 60 to get the AH rating which comes close to=35AH

there is no problem of fumes in the cabin. that second battery you see is beetle's original battery in its original location.

regarding ampere rating... the rating u usually see on batteries in xxxAH i.e. ampere/hour. a 100 AH battery will give you 100 amperes for one hour. it can also give you 200 Amperes for 30 mins or 400 amperes for 15 mins before it runs out of juice. the rating is not the maximum current you can draw from a battery but what ampere you can receive from it continuously for an hour. however lead acid batteries in Pakistan are often over rated and sometimes the number you see on the battery is not the rating but just model number, printed in such a way as to misguide people

It looks like as if theres a gap...but it fits so snugly that it wont even rotate inside the pod
