The system they use is out-dated and won't support a lot of the upgrades one assumes will work with them. They also know most people with discard these automate systems and throw in some pathetic Chinese android panel
There's three way ways to go about this now. 1) Use the method mentioned above by some of the guys 2) upgrade your headunit to 10" android panel ( nakamichi / onkyo ). I wouldn't bother with the cheaper alternatives. They're cheap for a reason. 3) You invest in a branded panel e.g. pioneer, Sony, kenwood, alpine. They all have headunits that support carplay/AA, Spotify, waze etc etc. The ones that have wireless carplay/AA will be more expensive however.
Option 2 is the best way to go. You don't spend too much, you have a great panel with tons of features and you have better audio than the crappy factory android panel
