The term ricer is used for Japanese vehicles only. It actually started as “rice burner” which apparently has been shortened to “ricer”. It is considered a derogatory term in the US and is used to describe ALL small Japanese vehicles like a civic, corolla or most Mitsubishi cars. Surprisingly, vehicles with smaller displacement from other countries like Germany, Italy or even Korea are spared from this indignity.
