Stars on japanese cars

hey i wanna noe what do the stars on the rear windsheild of japanese cars represent???? earlier i thought they represent the model of the car as ive seen one star on 2001 cars and 3 stars on 2003 cars and there are 2 stickers on cars recently being imported they have 4 stars on one and sumthing else on other plz tell

hey every body i figured it
out the stars on the rear mirrors right side are the year of manufacture]
the number 1-12 in the middle of the front wind sheild which just opposite the rear view mirror is the month of production
and the sticker in the left corner of the front windsheild is the date

Well my car has two stars sticker on bottom right of the rear screen and a sticker with "3" in the middle of front windscreen.So what does it employ. The auction grade theory seems more correct for those stars. But what does that "3" mean?

speed_man_ please share your source of information,, (well i dont have any source of information thats my case study) i could be wrong mgr thats what i have evaluated,,,secondly bhai then wat about 99 -00 model cars ????????? they dont hav any stickers,my friends terious kid 2000 dosent has stars it has the month and date, my car is a toyota vitz 2002, manufactured on the 28day of 12 month of 2001, and i have all the auction papers, japanese delivery of the car and all relevent
documents i only dont have the service record of my vechicle till 51k miles us k bad se mere pass hai and i have all recipts and all service record till yesterday 68k miles.
which has one star, a 12 in the middle if the front wind screen and the 28 on the top left sticker which seems to be like a old telephones dialing thingy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! meine bohat study kee hai us k bad im saying and i noe what im saying is rite i shared my ideas so that this is another way of checking the car besides checking the seat belts

yaar its not on every vehicle,but mostly it is found on toyata cars
secondly,the number on front windscreen is the number of auction Hall & turn number(i think so)
but most probably it can be that only according to my experience
If there's only 1 star on the back of ur vitz,do one job...look any other vitz 2002 in the market
and then let me know how many star there is on that car which is assembled in 2002 near to the month of ur car production:)

yar ive seen it on accords as well and ive seen it on a suzuki swift!!!! mgr ill try finding a car if i could find a 2002 one coz uska pata nai chalta to recongnize a 2002 the only way is that it has nw lites n bumpers but the antenna is still in front so ill see if i could find one nice taking to u

yaar its not the manufacturing date. i agree with speed_manan. its actually how good the car is environmentally n mechanicaally.

yar but my delivery letter say model 2001 ,1 star ,,month december, 12 ka sticker ,, ab japaniyon ko patta chooro na humme kya bhar mein jai

Bro u r right about star sticker on rear screen.It shows how envoirment friendly ur car is.

About sticker on middle of front screen represent vheicles registration year & month. It comes in green , yellow & some other colors.
