Its good but 898G is much better imo. U dont need to get a motor for the locks if ur vitz has a button for lock/unlock in front of the power window switches.

898G also displays the temperature of the car outside and inside (really useful for me as i have pets in the car sometimes with the engine on)

I have installed SteelMate 888M on my 2006 Toyota Corolla Fielder X (40th Anniversary) car three months ago and its having a very good covering range.

It warns the owner of unauthorized touch through beep & vibration in the remote at a far distance.

In Corolla Fielder Trunk Button has no use as there is no trunk in it. But the trunk button works with my other car (civic reborn 2008) as the same security system (steelmate 888M) installed in it. The trunk system really work excellent.

Is steelmate a good quality security system? Does it give any problems with time?
I'm asking because i want one with speaker, silent mode, anti car hijacking system with a good range (1000m at least)
Also, the car i will install it in will be parked at least 6 hours in an open parking.......although there is a guard....this time is enough for it to be stolen....but God forbid if anything happens.........
Please let me know of more options.

mine one has self start option as well,u can start car by just pushing button on the remote,its for people who want to start their car with ac b4 they even enter it

Steel mate is really good i never had any complain since i had install one in my father's car in 2008 and still working perfectly
and i had one in my car as well when i was in karachi, bought it for 5,000 that automatically locks and unlock door
as soon as u reach near/away to your car and the remote looks like a slim card, cant remember model number
but steel mate is good as far as my experience is concerned.

the only downside is the recharging of remote battery every 10 days as opposed to the conventional systems which give you several months after a battery replace...

u r using car charger right?
charger is always plugged,while driving i just plug it there n it gets charged so no hassle even after 30 days
i just charge it every month just in case,didnt checked how long it'll last,it may last even longer
