Steel Rims vs Alloys

Hey Guys!

So i am in the market for alloy rims (14 inches 4x100) for my Passo. After extensive research what i have established is that Chinese alloys available in abundance locally are not good for the cars suspension.

My questions are:

Which brands and where in Lahore can i find branded rims?
Where can i find 14 inch Japani steel rims and Toyota wheel covers.

The market is full of material that an average joe will never understand and have his/her money wasted.

My final option will be to keep my 13 inch Japani OEM steel rims and go for a 155 80 13 Sailun or Mirage tire.

You're not happy with Chinese rims, and now choosing Chinese brand tired. I would advise you to look for Lenso alloys, and go for Yokohama tires.
I'm sure there are plenty of shops in Lahore selling original items.

Choosing sailun just cause of cost and they still have a decent repo compared to other unknow maxwing, linglong etc.

Chinese alloys are manufactured using poor quality material hence the weight. Alloy wheels are meant to be less in weight (the branded lenzos, enkel, etc are low weight). Having a heavier object attached with suspension will surely wear it out faster. Moreover, Chinese alloys are much prone to damage than the OEM steel ones.

Things that makes sense to me is that heavier rims will probably add to your braking distance (as the overall car weight is increased) and will decrease fuel efficiency but still affecting suspension is a bit far fetched.
I'll agree on the quality bit there..

stick with the steel wheels. your real need is good tyres.

dont waste money on rims if can invest in good tyres.

also stick with the factory tyre size. you can get upto 185 width tyre in 13 inch.
