Steering column noise in cultus and AC related

Hi all,

I'm a regular but silent pakwheeler, mostly like to read.

I have a cultus 2003 and when ever I go over cat's eyes there is this "gharrr" sound that comes from the steering column (i think) and I can feel the vibration in the steering.

What I want to know is:

1. Could it be something else?

2. How much do I have to spend in order to get it fixed?

3. Where should I get the work done from?

Another issue is that my car previously never had any problems when starting off with AC turned on but ever since I got the gasket changed due to overheating its as if even when I press the full accelerator the car only CRAWLS and I actually have to turn the AC off if I want it to move. Any idea guys about what's possibly causing this? before I got the gasket changed there was absolutely no problem of this sort. One more thing I would like to add is that when I have driven the car for 5 minutes and then turn the car off and again start and immediately turn the AC on, the car runs without any trouble. This problem only occurs when I start the car after long intervals i.e starting in the morning or coming out of office to go back home etc.

Problem 1: It seems like it could be a problem with any of the following; suspension, steering box, steering column/cross. If there is no part replacement it shouldnt cost more than 1.5K. Get it checked from any engineering works workshop like Gola Wala, Shah Jee, or Wasim Engineering (infront of Cafe Piyala) or you can also contact my mechanic, I recently had the same problem too. Call me @ 0333-361-6-361 and I will guide you moreover.

Problem 2: I seriously dont get the problem! There is a very nice AC guy famous with the name of Mamoo near and in between Kashmir Road and Khalid Bin Waleed Road. You can see him for that.

hmm, alright. Will go and see these people and get the above things checked. Meanwhile, any other suggestions? guesses? about what else these things could be?

yeh kanghi ka msla hy yar
it costs here around 1500.
in non-powered steering cars its not tht serious issue even if it is doing grrrhh.. power steering mein it needs to be sloved ASAP

meri car ka excel bohat noise kar rha hai, so if you guys have the numbers of golawala or shahjee or any other good mechanic of excel/joints plz do let me know.

Dude, i guess it could be the leakage of your Steering seal, i had that problem in my car earlier.

dude it i is a manufacturing fault in 2003 model
i was also suffering from the same problem
i thought when u drive u feel like the streering is look lyks power streeing full it produce a dangerous sound like a shock witout bushes
its simple a small part have to be changed in ur streeing box my makanic have done this in my friend cultus it cost only 1000 with that part now 6 months have been past i streeing is working perfect

my rule : When I have any kind of problem regarding suspension I visit 2 or 3 mechanic.. And after that select one..
Last time My Alto 2003 start dhag voice when I engage 1st gear... I visit one suspension wala he told me are all okey.. again I visit another mechanic he told me bolt of foundation is bent and need to be replace... I done this job only in 50rs. and Alhmadulllih problem gone!!
problem 2 :
this problem occurs only on CNG or Petrol ? or Both ??
Did you ever try starting car on petrol ?
