Steering Volume Controls for Civic Reborn

Has anyone tried adding the steering wheel audio controls on their Civic reborn?

I'm thinking of getting this done to my car - but want to see if anyone else has gotten this done - and where.

Here's a pic of what Im talking about...from a North American model.

yes this is possible, a couple of members have done this to their ride, why dont you buy the entire steering?
would cost you 13k+4k for fitting and if you have a base model vti then another 3-4k for the clock spring,(not sure about the price of the clock spring)

Clock spring will cost around 5K.

Can the controls and the module not be added to the existing steering? My car barely has 2000 kms on it - dont want to change the whole wheel unless there isent any other option.

Also whats the clock spring?

I have the Vti Prosmatic with nav (not oriel)

^ you will have to add the clock spring and the buy the (button kit)

The button kits can be sourced from scrap markets, In karachi Sheir shah, or else, Optimum motor sports also has it.

But since you have a Vti and not the Oriel, you will have to add the clock spring as well.

Best option is to order the volume kit through ebay - usually comes from Dubai and take it to a reputable shop.

If you're in Karachi - there is a shop near Jan's broast - forgot the name but they do a good job.

Take it to them and theyll hook it up for you for about 2000 rupees.

Dont change the wheel no point.

As you have a VTi; things that you need are:

• Steering with control buttons or just the control buttons
• Clock Spring
• An OEM in-dash 6 CD Changer or DVD with SatNav or Rockmars DVD (actually any player that supports the wired remote)

Actually I'm getting this too for my 2010 reborn Civic. My brother is bringing the factory buttons from Canada when he comes home for Eid..and its a pretty simple hook up from what he said.

You can keep your stock Nav and player.

Only thing Im not sure about is whether cruise would work but thats not important for me at least.

You can probably order the buttons online or ask the dealer.

As discussed earlier, it would be a plug and play if you are getting an Oriel. If it is an iVTEC, then you have to source a few other things as well to make it running.

Cruise control wont be a plug and play thingy as some sensors are required to make it work which do not exist even in our top of the line models. However, zunny bhai has successfully installed a cruise control in his Prosmatec himself. He has the honor to own the first "Cruisematec" in Pakistan.

iVTEC comes with a simple 2 DIN player which doesn't support steering controls. So number 1, you have to source another player that supports this functionality. Secondly, the clockspring of IVTEC has only two pins in it for the horn whereas, the clockspting of Oriel has 12 pins which include some unused pins that are utilized for the buttons. So, if you own an iVTEC base model, you have to source Oriel's clockspring as well.

That is what I have been saying as well... OEM players of Oriel would do. Whether it is SatNav or a simple 6-CD In-Dash!
