I drove today A Steermatic 2007 from Kashmir to Peshawar. Loved the drive. It was on gas and was running awsome. Average came below 3 Rs. Around 2.7 Rs but cant be too much sure about it. Tried both Manual and Auto and I loved the gear built in gear changing system. pick was too good too

I was at metro the other day and picked up a guard air filter there. I have never used a guard air filter for my steermatic before and bought it just to have a good look at the product. If initial impressions are anything to go by then i really like what i see but cant give a final verdict until i put it to the test. I am attaching some pics for the steermatic fraternity.

How much did the guard filter cost?

Akbar bhai, I've also used guard filter in my steermatic. Costs Rs.300 or so. The original Honda filter is Rs.750.

Found Guard filter to be of good quality. Try it and save some money

Moiz, im a huge fan of "originals" :P..Since my car is run less, i prefer to pamper it with genuine parts..lol...Even bought the USDM oil filter for it, set me back 625 rs...

^^Set me back by 368/- rs. The original filter that came with my steermatic was also manufactured by guard and this one seems to be the same quality. Having said that i am also all for originals but making an exception here as i find no difference in quality.

guys I will be InshAllah going for the 30,000km checkup with Honda next week. Please advise as to what should I get services/changes apart from standard Honda practice

          I changed my first Alir filter on 10K service and i was amazed to see guard filter in my ride, It means Guard is making some thing gud where honda guyz are using this one, i will try mine next time n i think original 1 i just got costed me 950...

brother i wont recomment putting that filter in ur car.i tested all the qualities of filer in the market.once i though its better to change the filter twice in 10k km then once.so i went for a filter which costed 130rs:) the quality looked really pathetic,but i put it in cuz i wanted to test it.2 days later,i oppened the filter box nd saw that the intake was sucking air frm the outer sides of the airfilter,nd the rubber seal around the filter was not perfectly sealing the side.lot of dust was there in the intake.changed that to a 300rs so called original guard filer,same results wid that too.so now,i only put original filters,cuz i cant do that much bad to my babe just to save 200-300rs.

sir i think all the major tuning are needed after 20,000kms.so i think u need just minor thing to b done,like,oil change,airfilter etc...

oh yeah,u might need a brake pad change ,or,brake service atleast.

yes guard filter is a vgood one ,i roade in newspaper that it is also exported to japan . .

@ahmad: thanks and got the following things at 30k:

1. Oil change
2. Oil Filter change
3. Air filter cleaning
4. Front disk pads changed
5. Plugs cleaned

But plzz advise all that should i change CVT oil now or wait for 40k service. Note that my steermatic is totally stock on petrol

^^Time-age is as important as mileage maybe even more so considering our dusty conditions. Honda recommends 2yrs or 40k between CVT fluid change. My average per year mileage is 10k and i will change my CVT fluid according to the time -age schedule and not the miles. If the same applies to you then change it before 40k according to time schedule.

bro my steermatic has done 2 years with 30k and driven all within Islamabad. What do u advise, can i wait till 40k?

bro wat was the cost of all that?well y dnt u put any other oil then honda?there r better oils,like zic nd havoline.i use havoline too,nd its good.used honda oil for first couple of oil changes.though thats ok too..

and about the oil change,i think u SHOULD drive 40k kms before changing the oil.i dnt think so theres any relevence of time wid the cvt oil.i mean all depends on how much u hav driven,not that how many years u took to drive that much.so,i wud say chane it at 40k kms.as recomended by honda ppl.
