After lots of tuning and tweaking with the front components, I was now satisfied with the front stage.
Now it was time to install the rear speakers so that i get the full potential from the mighty MS-8 by turning on its Logic 7 feature
Easier said than done :S
In my Honda the rear speakers location is on the rear parcel shelf. To install the rear speakers (Focal Polyglass 165CV1) without getting any phasing issue with the sub, i have to isolate the rear cone of the speaker from the sub, in simpler terms, make an enclosure for the speakers.
Thought of may ideas such as fiber glassing, MDF enclosures etc. But suddenly an idea struck my mind.
To make the enclosure, I took a pair of 6x9 plastic speaker spacers commonly available at audio shops. To seal it, I installed a plexi glass plate with screws and silicon, where the 6x9 speaker sits. Lined it with polyfill and applied velvet on the outer skin.

Installed the enclosure on the rear side of the MDF baffle, lined it 1/2 inch foam to avoid vibrations and routed the wires.

Btw the center hole is to facilitate the subwoofer bass to come inside the cabin.
Installed the speakers along with grills.

Finished product installed in the car

The enclosure made a lot of difference in the overall quality of the setup, no more blurry sounds, specially in the xover regions. Sound from the rears is much much more clear and accurate now.
Hope u like this little DIY of mine
