Here is another of my recent purchase THE Focal Dual Monitor Amplifier. I bought this amplifier to run my latest upgrade The Focal K2 165KRX3.
With this purchase the French threesome have now become the French foursome
About this amp:
This is the best amp made by Focal so far, its their flagship model designed to run their Be Kits.
Dual Monitor amp is a 2- channel, "Dual Mono Amplifier". When people see "mono" they think its an amp to drive subwoofer. But the term Dual Mono means an amplifier containing 2 separate amps for each channel. Separate amps means better sound quality and better stereo separation and what not
.
This amp has also got 2 internal yet separate 24-Bit/ 96khz, Crystal DSP, yup 1 separate DSP for each channel...!!!
The amp comes with a software with whihc you can fully configure the DSPs, such as time alignment, xovers, types of filters, 30band EQ + PEQ. Each DSP is capable of handling 180 MIPS, thats 180 million instructions per second
Screenshot of the PC DSP control software:

This amp is equipped with 6 x Toshiba 2SC5200 and 6 x Toshiba 2SA1943 output stage transistors. Those are some very nice transistors
The power has dual fully regulated power supplies. The amp has got Burr-Brown Operational Amplifier. It also Triple Darlington Output Stages.
The amp is equipped with optical inputs, which means if you have a HU with an optic output you can connect the HU with the amp with optical cable, for clean noise less 1/0 data transfer, but thats not all, when you connect it with an optical cable it means that the DAC of the HU is bypassed and the Crystal DSP takes over the 1/0 data :evil laughs:
The specs on the amps are pretty neat, such as the >110db SNR. damping factor >600 and slew rate 20V/us. I think i am gonna love this amp.
The amp also comes with a remote controller with a volume control knob and to remotely select 5 presets setting.
Wud love to Share these screenshots with you guys
In a review i found, Compared to many amps like TRU, BRAX, Audison Thesis Venti etc. The Focal Dual Manager came second to Audison Thesis HV Venti which a price tag of 6700 Euros.

Here is a screen shot, designed for Utopia kits
