Can a stock d15b run a turbo setup ,,,, how much psi can it take ... Help needed, thanks
i fancy it can but don't knw the limit cz never turbo'd a d15.
never heard abt D15 turbo.......
Had a D15 turbo'ed the stock D15 non vtec!9 psi is safe! streched it to 11 psi, Stock internals!Could run with a Z on 11psi!
contact @moak aka Asad. He has done this, i presume.
Thanks guys .... waiting for more real world experience
sammeell .... special thanks
@doc yar as d15 is high cmprsn macine among sohc family nd its obvious that too high boost dsnt goes well with too high compression on stock internals.@sammeel according to my opinion the safest range is not more than 9-11 psi's max on stock internals otherwise the engine will blow up due to high pressure.or atleast its working life may be damn affected, well it depends upon tuneup aswell it has also seen tht d15's on stock running at over 12psi.@doc hope i helped u a bit:)
thanks immad
@doc wht turbo type u r tryng to use btw?
It wouldn't be safe for the engine, a friend of mine blew his b16b once. If u wanna turbo it, I may b wrong but I believe u should put some reinforced internals n low compression pistons.
8-9 psi on stock internals
well i disagree cz d15 is meant fr hard reving nd it cn bear 7-8 psi easily yes yes yes it can.its one of the most tough engines nd can bear alota presure if done corectly.
a lot of ppl have done it here in khi.....safe to run upto 10psi n tuning matter the most....proper fueling with air fuel ratio wideband tuning can take 12psi or more
ive done this tons of times from top to bottom.im just going to answer the OPs post.yes d15b can be turboed on stock internals...it does not matter how much psi you are running..its the power...stock d15b are good and safe for upto 220whp..now that doesnt matter if you are running 15 psi or 7...general sized t28 turbos produce around 200whp at 10psi...so you can run 10psi safely on it..main thing is how the setup is put together and the "TUNE"any further questions..let me know
good fuel and proper care is always better for a engine,,,, u can turbo it ,,,,,7-8 psi is good,,,,,else dont take risk, d16 or zc dohc good for turbo setup,,,
Thanks alot guys ... i am eyeing the following setup being sold by a fellow pakwheeler
the setup includescustom mini ram horn manifold with external wastegate optionkkk-26 turbo (up to 400 hp turbo)evo8 intercoolercomplete intercooler piping painted in metalic blue colourall couplers and clips are not local3 inch downpipe310 cc injectorschipped p08 ecuthis setup is tuned to 7-10 psi
bov is also included
^^^stock internals will respond well to it.
