Strange clinky noise/steering feel in Swift when on cat Eyes or bumpy roads

Hello.I have recently purchased 2013 automatic swift and its a pleasure ride. Some small things I.m noticing in it as under
1-the steering position lock is loose.even if I set it higher , a little push downard makes it lower n the lock gets freed itself? Is this somthing to worry about ? What iss the remedy for it?
2-on bumby roads or on chain of Cat Eyes my car steering somtimes gives clinking noise Kirr Kirr or a kind of metal contact pulse which can be felt at steering like somthing is loose .feels like coming when the front right tyre passes on little bumps or cat eyes(mostly only on rough road). I hav got checked the end Bushes etc and they seem fine. Can any one help out n suggest what could be possible problem??

I am having the same issue exactly from front right tyre khir khir .wht i found out is tht the steels pipes from abs system creating a noise .you can check that even by hitting those pipes with your finger . If you can check that let me know bcz i suspect this is the problem ..

Ahan..well I ll definitly check it.but if its abs steel pipes it should only give noise and not the metal contact pulse on car steering which is felt on hand is it?..it actually feel somthng has to b tightened on ends or steering rack or Kanghi etc...I will try what you said too n inform.thankyou.

Check for steering rack boots. If torn, high chances of rackend balljoint wearout. Does it make the same sound if you turn steering left right quickly while car is stationary?. Also a faulty steering linkage could cause this.

Thanks for reply.no the car steering does not make any sound when I make t right or left quickly on stationary.its only on the rough surface or cat eyes when moving other wise car feels very smooth.

Aia. Sorry for late reply.i have got it checked with multiple of dealerships and all suggest thy would take down all the suspension system and will check part by part which i actually dont agree to... N difnt done anything yet.. Thy r not able to identify or i should say not interested to diagnose properly where the clinky feel in steering coming from as apparently all joints etc seems ok.

An elder experienced guy thibks thats its coning from steering rack but he suggests not to get it repair yet as the problem is not big... N suggest to keep driving as it is for more than 10 20 k km and then get the kangi overhauled after that.although its annoying but m living with it

Steering position lock problem hs been solved. Its just a small screw behind steering assembly.. N can be tightened easily

As far as I diagnoses its the upper U-Joint (Technician was calling it "Cross") which making the noise and also technician at the suzuki dealership said the same. Today I try to move the joint when car was stopped and found there was movement plus noise. Talked to suzuki guy and he said he'll talk to suzuki higher management and will get my issue resolved in 3 to 4 days. Hopefully it will.

Ahan thats good you got it diagnosed atleast which is the main thing.. I.. Are you referring cross to the steering joint just near the brake pad"or clutch? I ll check my as well

The upper U joint near the steering wheel. Its new cultus 2018 vxl only 3000 driven it will be covered in warranty.
