Strange Noise from Engine Head

Guys I am facing problem that my Khyber 99 is giving strange grinding/clicking sound somewhere around head when car is picked in 1st Gear or when with passengers or when with passenger climbing some steep inclination i.e sound is when car is under load.

Upon driving car very carefully that is pressing accelerator more then required to avoid even slight load on engine, there is no sound. On steep inclinations, sound is quite threatening, its like something is grinding.

My tappets are noisy. Even when car is idle, there is clicking sound. As per mechanic, tappets are adjusted properly and that all khyber tappets are noisy.

Any suggestion?

If u belong from Karachi will suggest u take your car to Ajmal Ustad He did overhaul engine of my car but he can fix your issue .

Have u seen Clifton Ziauddin Hospital There is near shell petrol Pump go back side of it ask any one Ajmal Ustad Garage they will guide u . Thanks

Yeah I have been there. There is one dhabba there where all truckers stop by for meal. I once had that meal. It was good.

Does he have proper garage or just single mechanic?

khyber does have noisy tappets and gives mechanical tak tak noise from head if you try to hear it carefully but if grounding sound is present, get it checked.

Problem Solved:

Sound was not from head but from some rubbing of nut of gear box/engine rubbing with frame. Upon accelerating engine, that nut was rubbing with frame, causing grinding sound. I will try to post pics of that nut. That nut is below some where around area where engine and gear box are connected.

Being fact that all mounts were changed, engine was supposed to be little upward so that there was no such rubbing of nut with engine frame. Mechanic did some hitting on frame and created little gap between nut and frame. And problem solved. No such sound now.

This approach is not right. I should have gone for root cause of why engine was below its actual place.

Anyways, for time being problem is solved. Sometime later, I will go for its root cause of why engine is below its actual level even after replacing all mounts.
