Strange problem (internet access point / router)

Aoa.
I have ptcl internet connection. Ptcl's provided router is installed with it. Due to its weak wifi signals, i m using "linksys , wireless G access point" in my home thru LAN connection.
Now the problem is that the signals which i m receiving from access point is not continuous.
Browsing starts fine for some time but after some seconds or minutes mobile / laptop stops further browsing .

I have to OFF my mobile wifi switch then ON it again and then it starts working again for some minutes.
And this loop cycle continuous.
I think there is some connection settings problem. Can some hardware literate brother help me out ?

One more case of famous saying, "99 percent issues are solved by hard reset". Have you observed some correlation with the ambient temperature and the device malfunctioning? If it is caused by overheating of the device, you might have to consider it relocating to more ventilated space. The device will be producing more heat if it has to cover RF signals over a longer distance. One more point would be whether you are using the standard adapter or power supply?

Yes first thing i did was factory reset but in vain.

The device is placed at TV lounge which is well ventilated.

Adapter is the same provided with the device.

Someone told me that some times link-sys devices are not compatible with other brand devices. For which router or access point needs changes in configuration.

In the above scenario i m totally illiterate . Some hardware guy can help me out.

I had an issue with my tp link when i installed dd wrt it won't connect to a device, it could be any means i couldn't use internet on all my devices all the time. I tried everything but didn't work. Then i removed it and when i got on nayatel, i asked the guy to use it. He did the setting and it worked. You can try redoing the settings

Basic configurations were adjusted at factory reset as per details provided by the linksys website.

Try to change the WiFi channel in your Linksys settings.

Usually all people adjusted their channel to 6 or 1 by default, also "Auto" option usually opt for channel-6.

• first install some app on your mobile phone "Wifi Analyzer", this will show you all other wifi signals along with their channel numbers (your wifi, and surrounding neighbors wifis)

• if there are some other Wifis are on the same channel as yours, then try to change your channel from Linksys settings to an empty channel.
  Usually these APs cause interference with each other and cause such type of problems.

• If this does not solve, then tell me, i will explain you the next step.

I faced the same problem, replaced the whole PTCL wire but problem remained the same. Finally, replaced the PTCL WiFi router with new PTCL router double antenna. They didn't charge me and due to double antenna I got the range thus no need to install my TP Link device again.

If there's an option for country setting (i.e. within wifi signal setting) change it to Pakistan. This may solve your problem.

If all else fails, install dd-wrt...might fix the issue if there's a software setting problem.

Thanks God. Problem solved by replacing ptcl modem with double antenna modem.
It is now confirmed that it was hardware conflict .

My router had similar issues. I observed that if i changed the admin password and reboot, the old password was back in force. So I asked ptcl to change the modem and they did very quickly. Problem solved.
