AOA Dear Wheelers!!!

Few days back, while doing the checks under the hud, I don't know how I forgot to cap the radiator properly! Bad thing, I lost all the original coolant in the radiator!

Kindly suggest me a good coolant! I do not want to run normal tap water in the radiator and let the rust damage the metal!

Use caltex coolant orange color its the best dilute it in ratio of 50:50 with distilled water not the tap water

If you have not lost the radiator cap, the coolent number is mentioned on the cap. Only use the mentioned coolent. Some coolents are for heavy duty machineries like diesel generators or even diesel cars can cause a leak in the radiator.

Because some coolents are adviced to be used with some ratio of water, some times they make confusion. So I will suggest you to use only the mentioned coolant which is mentioned on the radiator cap.

I have two questions at this particular place.
1.can we mix orenge coloured coolent into green or green into red?
2.Let say in case i have no coolent with me and in some emergency i have to put water in radiator to keep its level uptodate though radiator already contains with previous coolent but at decreased level,later some time again, when i have to add more lequid (let say after few days running),how much to add coolent when i dont know,what the water/coolent exact ratio radiator keeps inside,at that time.

No. Green coolants are glycol based, while red coolants are OAT based. They do not mix and will cause problems for the cooling system. If changing types, all of the coolant must be removed, the system thoroughly flushed, and only then should the new type of coolant installed. There are some orange/pink/yellow coloured coolants that are supposed to be universal, but their quality varies. I would not recommend mixing, but if you decide on this, please read all information on the coolant carefully.
You can keep track of the amount of water added and then use that information when topping up with coolant for the proper ratio.

ryt now i buy green bottle one which cost me 95 ruppees
and is easily available in market
but after reading comments i think i should change it as it wont be of gud quality

The proper ratio is required to maintain the manufacturer's specifications for boiling point and freezing points, heat carrying capacity, prevention of scales and deposits and conditioning, lubrication and longevity of sealsin the cooling system.

The coolant can be flushed by draining the overflow tank, radiator, the heater core and the engine block according to the manufacturer's specified procedure, then running water throughout the system, then draining all that water, and then refilling the system with the proper ratio of new coolant and distilled or demineralized water. After this, the system must be purged of air and checked for leaks.

Toyota coolants are available at Makro and Metro's
