Suggest Digital Camera

Hello...
Please suggest best digital camera (including model number) in 8-14 thousand range. megapixel doesn't matter as long as it has excellent picture quality with good battery timing. and if it has good features that will be a plus point.

right now from what i have searched these are the options.

1.Canon Powershot A470 IS
2.Nikon Coolpix S210
3.Sony DSC W110
4.Panasonic LUMIX DMC LZ7G

please suggest if there's any other good option or which of these 4 are the best

Get the Canon.... Once you go Canon, you'll never go back.

I have used Canon Powershot A460, Power Shot A2000IS and the Digital IXUS 75 (also known as SD1000). The A460 is outdated now but the other two are excellent Cameras.

I have used three different Sony digital cameras before turning to Canon and I don't miss them a bit. Have also used Kodak and Olympus, but no comparison.

Yup. I'd suggest Canon too but this model is just way too heavy and bulky. Trust me, you want a small camera. If you cant get a smaller Canon go for the Nikon instead. A small "great" Nikon is better than a big fat "excellent" Canon.

Kodak sucks. Avoid it at all costs.

@Redbull_ar i just checked out the cannon A590 its also looking to be a very good option in my budget...what are your reviews for that camera? any other camera that you suggest over the given options?

@anonpak which Nikon model? i didn't had any issues with the size of the cannon... size doesn't matter if it gives an excellent picture quality has good features and battery timing.

im about to buy a sony cam in the coming days which is for a17,700 ,its got .5inch lcd 8.1mp cam 5x optical zoom,its the only black camers sony is giving at the moment,dnt remember its model num

get any sony camera! jaldi kharab nahi hotay!
the rest are not bad as well. however u should not get a very high megapixel camera if ur going to use it just for personal photography because ull spend a lot more money to get a high MP camere then ull hav problems saving them because even 1 image taken using an average 4MP camera will take up upto 2mb of space.

What I meant was that any Kodak camera you pick would be better than the competition.

The A590 looks good too. I say go for it. You'll understand once you've used Canon

In small P&S camera's canon (a series) and sony (w series) are gud.For high end camera's Nikon is the leader,but now due to big market of small camera's they have started making gud small camera's (s series).Kodak was once gud but only in film camera's now other companies have beaten it.Although some will claim that kodak is still gud.But that's their opinion.
I would suggest to see all the brands within ur range compare them (performance,price,output) and then decide.redbull has given u a very useful link and when i was searching for camera for myself i consalted the same website.

Currently m using sony t2 in pink... really nice.. excellent pic quality and eye catcher too ... I'd recommend sony as earlier said that its hard t mess with... not easily damaged.. have dropped mine thrice already...

According to the link provided by @RedBull_ar the overall winner is Panasonic Lumix LZ8 while best pocket point and shoot camera is Sony Cyber-Shot W120.
