Suggestion: Cultus 2008 EFi - Manual to Atuomatic upgrade?

Hello guys,

I was gonna sell my stock Cultus 2008 EFi model, and buy an automatic small car. But someone suggested that now Cultus' original automatic gearbox is available in used import parts, and I can just replace the manual gearbox with automatic one with bolt-on fitting.

This is really good news for me, so rather selling on low price, then buying an expensive imported auto car, I can just simply save some bucks!

Is this true? I've asked one mechanic and he said he can do it in 30k budget.

My questions are for anyone who have done it,

• Is it bolt-on fitting without any modifications in engine bay?
• Is anything added to engine to support auto gearbox?
• Did it all worked perfectly after upgrading to auto? Smooth change of gears and no electronic or mechanical issues?

there are so many things need to replaced to convert to automatic transmission properly:

1. matching automatic transmission.
2. matching ECU to control auto transmission.
3. brake pedal assembly.
4. gear lever assembly.
   5.ignition switch assembly.
5. instrument cluster.
6. wiring
7. engine mounts or maybe axles.
   9 radiator

still if you like to convert it to auto, better to find a front half cut of auto cultus and swap everything including engine and keep the original stuff with you in case you want to revert back.

and i dont think its going to be cost beneficial.

I am told that there's now auto-gearbox which is bolt-on fitting, made for this same engine model, so there are no major components modifications needed. Just replacing the gearbox, adding gear computer, and removing of clutch pedal. How much it is true, I am asking here to confirm

I am looking here for someone who have done it, or know someone who have done it, and share the experience.

Of course, mechanics and parts seller always say, yes its perfect fitting etc. to make a sale, but in reality its totally different.

What I've got so far is 30k for everything. But I'm doubtful a bit about the bolt-on no-mods fitting.

Will it be the same for carby cultus? Do you plan to get it done?

Mine is EFI Cultus and I don't know about carby one, and not going for it.

No, got its clutch things replaced (pressure plate, clutch plate, etc). Clutch was too hard, now pretty good. Also power steering installed.
