I’m looking for advice on whether to upgrade my car or not. I currently have a 2010 Suzuki Cultus, which I’ve owned since 2014. I bought it when it had just 33,000 km on it, and now it’s approaching 150,000 km. It’s been a smooth and reliable car, Alhamdulillah, without any major issues along the way. That’s why I’m feeling torn about making a change.
Lately, I’ve been considering switching to a sedan, and I’ve narrowed it down to two options: the Suzuki Liana 2010 model or above or the Mitsubishi Lancer 1.3 or 1.6 GLX . But here’s where I’m struggling: my Cultus has been meticulously maintained over the years. I’ve always used fully synthetic oils, kept the cooling system in check with the correct coolant, and it still has the thermostat in place and fan is on auto(which every car should be and its not something out of ordinary but for paki mechanic it is ) Performance-wise, I’ve never found it underpowered, and overall, it’s been a satisfying car to drive.
The only thing that’s bothering me now is its appearance, and the fact that I’ve had it for nearly 10 years makes me feel like a change is due. However, I’m hesitant because if I switch to one of these sedans, they’re older models too, and finding a well-maintained one like my Cultus is going to be tough, especially since many are poorly taken care of.
So, I’m stuck wondering, should I stick with my reliable Cultus or take the plunge and upgrade to a sedan? What would you suggest?
