We bought new hobs for our kitchens a few months back. Surveyed the market extensively. The most expensive include Ariston, Siemens that can cost 40,000+ for a 5 burner hob. A good alternate is Fotile its less expensive than the above two but build quality is very good. We got two Fotiles, one was a two burner glass top which cost about 22,000 the other was a three burner stainless steel that cost 25,000. The reason for choosing Fotile was that their build quality was good and they have proper spares and after sales support.
Then come the cheaper Chinese brands which are re-branded as Canon, Nasgas, Delite etc. starting price is about 5000 and it goes up to 12000 or more depending on number of burners and other safety features. I found the Canons to be better. A good glass top can be had for 8000. We bought a Delite hob previously for 5500 from Hyperstar. It has a glass top and the glass shattered after a few months of use. The company did not have a replacement for the glass so that was quite frustrating. We also have a Firenzi (Chinese) 3 burner glass hob in the basement kitchen that cost about 8000. It works well, but it's not used very frequently.
If you are into baking, then it would be better to get a range. I haven't come across any imported cooking ranges, they are mostly local. But make sure you get one with an electric oven, it is easier to regulate oven temperature with the electric one. For local brand I would suggest a Canon.
