my 2 cents, the latest possible model of Fortuner or Kia Sorento. Sorento's value for money equation is good these days.

spending 6.8 mil on 20+ years old vehicles is too risky unless you have time, patience and money to build it into a reliable vehicle and if you do TLC 100 series is a great vehicle. The original part prices are unbelievable these days.

latest possible model of Isuzu Dmax if a truck will do, or Sportage/Tuscon if a crossover will do

reliability, maintenance costs, onroad vs workshop time, peace of mind etc of newer vehicles is unbeatable

But if you get a 100 series in good condition ,its worth more as well
As for the prices of parts ,almost every part of every suv is expensive now a days
