Suggestions for a capable 4x4 that's still great for city use

Assalam o alaikum guys wanted to get your opinion as to what cars should I be looking at if I need a capable 4x4 SUV/truck that is still good for city and highway use? My budget is under 68 lakh and my top priority would be that the car should be reliable, repairable, right-hand-drive and resellable. I know that our markets gone crazy but still what would you guys recommend?
I've been looking into the usual hilux's, Prado's and LC's but even within these models there's so many variants that I am simply overwhelmed. Thus I really need your suggestions.

I am an enthusiast ,I've had alot of suvs but still a rookie compared to the intellectuals here but I would just like to put something from my experience here, if it helps

I currently own a BJ40 and a LC100

But looking at your needs ,you'll have to compromise on alot to keep a suv for within the city and highways!
For example a bj40 is good according to fuel consumption. Mine gives 12 on highway and 10.5 in city but the ride is not for highways. On the other hand its not comfort oriented! But as an offroader ,there ain't a thing to worry about!

You can consider Fj62
Strong engine for highways
Suspension :Ride is not too good nor too bad
Fuel efficiency: you should not expect more than 9km on highway ,less in city.
Its a beast when it comes to offroading!

Older version of prado (1992)
Comes with a 2LT 2400cc ( shitty engine)

Later models with the 1kz (fuel thirsty)

Newer ones 2000 onwards ,one with 1kd
Delicate engines if you aren't careful about putting in good quality diesel
Or else it would cost you the injectors worth 200k

I know people are going crazy for it but it ain't worth it..

A j70 would be a better choice comparatively
Usually a 3 door will be available

You only have 2 options, Prado gen 2, or a Vigo. An 80 series though great, would be slightly old, but if found in mint condition, nothing like it.

Before we go further. What's the purpose of the vehicle, will it be a primary vehicle? Will it be used as a family vehicle? Capable off road in what sense, dirt tracks or hardcore offloading like proper off road events?

Bhai get a mid to late 90s surf or prado. Drive it and then resell. BTW, SUV and fuel efficiency are incompatible unless you go for brand new revo or sigma fortuner. You can get a good hilux in 6million but it will only be comfortable for the driver.

sir with growing traffic and parking issues in cities every where in Pakistan, the better choice will be a smaller sedan or 5 door hatchback. easy on maintenance and reasonable fuel economy.

4x4 pickup trucks are real tough challenge for cabin riders and the suvs' are for touring with family & friends recreational tours. Both are not for daily commute in cities.

Only options include Prado 120 Series 2002-2009, Land Cruiser 100 Series 1998-2007 and Fortuner 1st gen. 2013-2016. The Prados and Land cruisers may be old and will require some work at first but will be reliable afterwards. They are extremely capable of offroading and provide comfort on paved roads as well unlike Fortuner which is underpowered alongside being uncomfortable.
Regarding trucks, Hilux and Izuzu D-Max. Revo may be difficult to find under 70 Lac but you can easily find UK Spec Invincible Hilux or Thai Spec Hilux with the 1KD 3.0L Intercooler Diesel engine (same engine as Revo 2016-17). Local Hilux Vigo should be avoided at all costs as they came with non intercooler 2.5L 2KD engine.
Prado with 2.7 should be avoided from 2002-2004 as they came with old 3RZ engine, the 3.4 V6 5VZ and 1KD 3.0D should be given preference (given the state that 1KD has some problems with our local diesel quality).
Hilux Surf 2002-2009 are also great vehicles and a good option to consider but they never came in 7 seater option and are lesser equipped with features if compared with Prado or Cruiser.

@omaruser156370259465. Very detailed and a fine opinion but just FMI bro, how to purchase the vehicles mentioned above in 6-7 million? Honestly. I mean LC 80 (clean with docs) 4-4.5 million. RKRs with 2F, 2-2.5 million (depending on the quality of the restoration and the goodies installed). Heck, the BJs are hitting 1.5-2 million range. Pre 2003 (old dashboard) Cygnus at 8 million

Yes, indeed the task of finding one is difficult given the current car market situation but it's possible. LC100 with 1HD 4.2D 98-2002 (old dash/straight gear) would be around 6-6.5 and similarly Prado J120 with 1KD or 3.4 V6 should be a able to fit (2002-2004).Surf is easy to find in this budget and so is Fortuner. Unfortunately, finding the right car (especially an old one) is a full time lookout job nowadays as all people saying shower for fresh look or just minor scratches are lying as per my experience when I was buying a 9th gen Civic last year.
And yes I agree, a good Cygnus is 70+ nowadays.

So we need something that in the winter can do trips to the north with ease and also can be used within city. This will be a secondary vehicle. Dirt tracks and ice paths will be the most it will face along with some very light trails. The car should seat atleast five people comfortably along with their luggage.

This car that I've been looking for will be a secondary car that will be used more in the winters for northern areas. As for my primary car I too, just as you, really really hate traffic and also, just as you, really love hatchbacks. So my primary car is actually a hatchback and a motorcycle

If 2 adults and 3 kids, try and search for a 1996-98 3 door prado. For luggage you can add a roof rack. Very rare(good ones) but very solid. Also for trips up North, diesel should be preferred as petrol quality and availability(both) are pathetic. Also the 1KZ TE is more robust in handling dirty fuel than a 1KD FTV. You should seriously consider a DMax. I would atleast purchase one in case I opt for a Kaikra (double Cabin). Graham from FWD 24/7 swears by it and I myself am really impressed by the way this thing keeps up with all the other super modified rigs despite some simple/basic upgrades.

Yeah man I was shocked!!!! Prado owner's we're asking more than similar year land cruisers! I don't know how everything has gotten so worse. Being a car enthusiast in today's Pakistan has become just depressing.

If this is all then you can get a sportage awd. It will satisfy your needs without any issues. It will be new, so easy on the pocket with 3s support and lots of gadgets. If you think it's small, then get a 2014-2015 fortuner trd, those lie in your range and are new.
No need to go into old troubled vehicles, unless you quite badly want to.

I'm the first owner of my 100 series and it was imported from UK.
I must say it has proven itself in every way!
It is certainly one of the most reliable ,comfortable suv out there!
Its Packed with options!
Giving me 8-9km on highway 6-7in city
Its quite powerful even for offroad
