Suggestions for Engine Oil for Mitsubishi 4G13 12 valve Lancer

As Salam o Alaikum Pak Wheelers

i have been visiting this website for quite a few years now and was in active but have always found the website/forum to be very useful.

I have a Mitsubishi Lancer 1988 with its original 4G13 12- Valve engine, the engine was overhauled last year in Ramadan and after giving the engine a 1000km run i changed the Oil and then again did the same after 3000kms. it has almost been 6 months after the oil change and there is no problem with the car at all. but the engine oil now seems to a bit reduced and has turned very dark in colour:o, so i am deciding to change the oil and the filters and get the car service.

I require your useful suggestions regarding which oil should i now use for my car, last time i used Castrol.

you people are quite experienced with the cars and your suggestions will be highly obliged.

Brother Castrol GTX is best for your car.

engine oil for daily use vehicle is changed according to odometer reading not by Time line. I'd recommend Shell Helix HX 7 with filter change, oil change at 5000 km & filter change at 10,000 kms.

My mechanic also suggested me to buy Castrol GTX.

there are many unknown products in the market claiming to be imported rather than Pakistani made such as Falcon, Advance etc etc. one of my friends suggested to try ZIC!

it is a daily use car but driven with utmost care and not more than 30 to 40kms a day!

GTX and Magnatec comes straight from UK by M&P. Same guys who import Samsung Galaxy S5.

Finally got all the oils changed today! Engine oil was Total 20W50 which i bought from my friends Petrol Pump. he Said he uses that in his cars!

dude mitsubishi 4g13 engine need 5w30 oil in winter and 15w40 in summer ! u used wrong oil bro ! i have 4G13 engine too and i have manual ! 3Litre oil capacity ! SJ above.
so dont focus on oil brand name ! just buy correct oil info:
5w30 SJ and above 3L for winter
15w40 sj and above 3L for summer
gear box 2.3L 75w90 gearbox oil

But if you check the recommended engine oils for 4g13 20w50 is recommended. Plus I do live in Karachi so don't care about winter's. Btw this was before the engine was oevrhauled. She now runs on 10w40 and works quite good.
