Sujjestion about diesel corolla

Is there any difference (mpg, reliability, noise, power etc) between the diesel engines of corolla 2007 and 2010? Which one is good for long term usage? Also is there any general rule to check the life of a diesel engine?

Both are 2000cc conventional diesel engines. They say the later models got some improvement; i.e. less noise and smoke and more durability while fuel economy remains almost same. Generally speaking, corolla diesel has good engine life (if properly maintained) and you don't need to wait in long ques for petrol during CNG off days, plus the millage is also better than 1.6 manual.

Wait for the experts who will explain everything in detail

Btw are you going for engine swap or buying a new (used) 2.0D?

i ve 2.0d saloon 08-09 shape...using it as a home car.....cabin noise is less than previous shape 02-07 but engine is same n so is the fuel consumption best part is it got bigger thank 55L compare to previous shape corolla 50L tank can go upto 600km on one tank....to keep ur diesel car healthy always change the engine oil/oil filter at the right time like 3500-5000km not more than tht....air filter/diesel fuel filter need to be change at 15k km

depend on the condition & mileage, if the 2011 2.0D is non-saloon like xli then i ll say go for 2.0D saloon with SR

If the price,condition and milage is same than go for the saloon having ABS.The most required thing.

2.0D Saloon falls among the best fuel efficient cars made in Pakistan. Although noisy as compared to petrol variants but high torque gives a very good feeeling during drive. If u can afford than go for the latest model. A worth buying car in long term, but less resale value.

Thanks. I also think that especially when 95% of ur usage is done in rural areas then diesel variant is gud. Uneven (kachay pakay onchay neechay) roads, most of the time 4,5 persons in car with additional load in boot are also the major reasons stretching u towards the diesel. And while talking abt resale i can jst say that their is a saying in punjabi (chooprian hoyan te nalay do do). If one enjoys the driving pleasure of a powerful machine for minimum 3,4 years then resale factor should not be on his mind. I have seen a lot of people who buy xli jst due to its resale but on the other hand they also want ABS, AIR BAGS, POWER LIKE A 4x4 etc.

12kmpl in city? highway? or mixed driving? AC on? I think 12 is not good for 2.0D, it should be giving you at least 14-15 in city and 17+ on highways . . .

Anyway, no doubt it is more powerful than xli and diesel engines last longer than petrol ones if properly maintained! Best of luck for new (used) purchase

Aoa, can someone enlighten me which gear is more suitable for DIESEL 2C engine corolla 2.0d at the speed of 60-70km. Because diesels give more average at low rpm so i use 5th gear here at RPM comes around 1500. Has anyone experience regarding that??
